I'm setting the over-under on Hawks playoffs wins vs. the Celtics at 0.5

I'll take the under. Not looking good for ATL.

I don't get it. Because you brought it up originally? Don't try and take credit for my team Nas. I even hate Bibby but I've looked the other way just because it's helping them for now

By the way, I better see some votes for Horford for ROY.

It's quite a contrast. On the one hand, I'll give Durant credit for hitting some big shots (in fact one against the Hawks) and really being the only scoring option on the team. On the other hand, he takes a ton of shots and doesn't shoot a great %, which is certainly a function of his teammates and being that only option

But with Horford, he's guarded all the big time post players reasonably well, averaged nearly a double-double and is shooting a nice percentage while contributing to a playoff bound team

What would Horford average were he on Seattle? 20 and 10?

I still think Durant should be ROY, but I can hear an argument for Horford. Much like Kobe with MVP though, the debates dont really matter, its a popularity contest and Kobe and Durant will each win their respective awards.

I dont think the Hawks win a game against the C's.

So we've got 2 predicting a sweep (I'm sure tomorrow after the matchups are set we'll have a full blown prediction thread)

Anyone going to be A MAN and step out and say OVER besides me?????

Nas????

If only I were moderator so I could delete this post....there is no room to talk about hockey in this thread, only the mighty Atlanta Hawks

I just feel like the Celtics are too focused, too deep  , and have too much to prove. KG, Pierce, and Ray Ray are tired of hearing idiots like Skip Bayless say that they are chokers in the Spring. I think they will come out smoking. I just cant see them taking game 1 or 2. If they have great crowds for 3 and 4 they might take a game, but I think C's are trying to send a message.

Best second half - Horford? Nah.

My man Al Thornton was filling up the nets for the shitty Clippers. In Feb-April, he averaged over 16 a game with about 6 boards. Now that was the best second half.

Well if March and April determine ROY, Durant averaged close to 22 ppg, shooting over 47%, and thats with the fact that he was far and away the only threat in Seattle. The 37 he dropped on Denver was awesome, including two buzzer beating threes, one from like 35 feet out. He's gonna be the real deal.

Good call W_Z

Looked like a totally different team

Let's come out and tie this thing up!

Finally a good performance from Josh Smith. If he's trying to prove me wrong, this is a good start. Great effort by Atlanta.

Boston will still win the series but I really think this Atlanta team could be really good in a short period of time.

I'm a huge KG fan, and would love to see him win a ring. After saying that though, I would like to see them lose now after allowing the Hawks to tie the series. There is no way the Hawks should have won a game, let alone 2.

I'm confused. I thought Bagels was a Warriors fan. Well I know he was when they were in the playoffs last year. But now he jumps off the Warriors Band and onto the Hawks wagon?

Nice win tonight. Horford has really developed this year. We knew the Bulls got the wrong Gators big man but it's painful to see the talent difference between Horford and Noah widening. And I want Joe Johnson on my team.

Whoa...slow your roll there Coast...First of all, no one is jumping on or off any bandwagons here. I've been a Warriors fan since Run-TMC. Maybe you missed all my posts right up until the Warriors lost that last game against the Nuggets. I really wanted them in the playoffs. See, I can't root for them right now because THEY AREN'T IN THE PLAYOFFS. So I don't see where you get that I'm jumping off their bandwagon...I"ll be back rooting for them next year like I always do. I followed them through some terrible years with Mookie Blaylock, Chris Porter, Clifford Rozier, Chris Gatling, Keith Jennings, Larry Hughes, Vonteego Cummings, Bill Curley, Todd Fuller....I didn't just jump on the bandwagon with Snoop Dogg and Jessica Alba last year buddy

As for the Hawks, you might want to check any of my posts from last year or before this season started about how I thought they were going to be a promising/ up-and-coming team and my posts throughout the year. Or this very thread, which was started before the playoffs began. Usually a bandwagon jumper jumps on AFTER the team has started winning. Did you predict the Hawks series would be tied 2-2 after 4 games?

Maybe it's just hard for you to comprehend that someone actually, you know, LIKES the NBA enough to like more than the local team.

I hope and pray YOU aren't jumping on any bandwagons here now that you're drooling all over Joe Cool. Go back and watch your golf.

 Wow. So many assumptions and insinuations in there. No, I did not read all of your previous posts and I was not aware of your long-time Hawks love. I didn't know that was required to ask a question. But thanks for the answer.

Except of course you were the one making assumptions and insinuations in the first place by calling me a bandwagon jumper

Also, perhaps you were asking an honest question rather than making an assumption, but I find that hard to believe based on the fact that your 'question' wasn't even posed directly to me

Atlanta is making Boston look SLOW. There was one fast break in the second quarter last night where Bibby had a 3 on 1 and fed Childress for a huge jam that made it painfully obvious.

I didn't see much of Sam Cassell last night. Didn't they acquire him for his "playoff experience"?

Uh, yeah...that's the downside of "playoff veterans"- they're old. And when you have a team of young studs, sure they're going to make some bad decisions, but they're also going to run circles around people like Cassell

Mbenga (who?) had a nice second quarter. Lotta energy.

Lakers vs. Jazz is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

That Denver situation is atrocious. Carmelo was a non-factor and this series pretty much summed up my feelings about him as a player. They need to blow that thing up and start over.

Beat a team that was in full meltdown mode with two guards who play little to no defense?

If Kobe can't beat KDdidit Martin on the perimeter then he sucks. I may be wrong, but isn't KDdidit Martin a PF/C?

Yes but hes the best on the ball defender on the team and a very decent defender overall. He's pretty versatile on who he guards, similar to Shane Battier.
