Chris Paul is absolutely killing Dallas right now. They are leaving West open every time. Dallas down by 10 after the 1st and they are lucky its only that much. |

The way you talk about this Chris Paul guy, you'd think he'd be an MVP candidate or something. |

Go New Orleans! |

Nice to see New Orleans be able to give Chris Paul half a quarter of rest and still maintain the double digit lead they had after the 1st. |

The Hornets are now running away with this as the lead jumps up to 22. I doubt Kid Cairo makes it to the end of the game. Pretty boring undercard so far to the Spurs/Suns main event tonight. |

on my once a month post to this section I agree on your Chris Paul love but geez man this is borderline stalking/obsession. He got schooled by Deron Williams singlehandedly in two important games they lost, as close as this competition is you could almost get that minisciua on why he doesn't deserve it. BTW, if they won those two games they might be playing the nuggets right now. Who would you rather be playing? |

Actually I've said more than a few times before on this board that CP's only weakness I've seen really is that he does poorly against Williams. I'd like to see that change and I think it will. As for your last question, it doesnt matter who I'd rather face, the Hornets dont really seem to mind facing Dallas so far. |

ok you admit that, I hadn't read it, not an active follower in this section, that being said, if those two games cost NO the 1 seed, does it effect the MVP balloting? Fair question? Regardless of that I love CP and he is kicking ass in the playoffs so far. |

Regardless of that I love CP and he is kicking ass in the playoffs so far. I dont think so. I like Kobe alot and wont mind seeing him win it, but I think CP deserves it. I dont think you can blame Chris Paul for having 2 bad games out of 82. His stats were out of this world, and his actual play exceeded his stats. This is a pretty damn good Mavs team that was supposed to use all their experience to beat him and he is single handedly dominating them.' Side note: I havent actually been watching the game for a good 10-15 minutes now. I switched to Caps/Flyers Game 7. |

First off, playoff results have no results on the MVP. And yes they pay very close attention to conference seedings, do you know the stats when #2 plays a 7 game road trip against a #1 to go to the finals, which obviously happens quite frequently. I don't know the numbers but my it aint pretty. Might be BS to get that microscopic but that comes into play. Obviously overall improvement takes a front seat to that but it does come into play. |

I never said playoffs matter in MVP voting. Dirk proved that last year. And I know conference seeding matters in voting, Dirk also proved that last year. Kobe is going to be the MVP, its pretty obvious at this point. I just dont think he is. I think you can make a better case for Chris Paul. |

Shaq is doing a great job of playing effective defense while not getting in foul trouble early on. Amare is playing great offensively. They cant stop him unless Duncan plays him very aggressively, which the Spurs cant afford to do. Parker, Manu, and Duncan have all 33 of the Spurs 33 points. Suns lead 38-33 right now. If Finley, Bowen, Oberto, Udoka cant contribute anything offensively, the Spurs cant win this series. Especially if Bell is hitting his 3's on the other side. |

Whoever makes the better defensive adjustments with this game. Both teams are getting whatever they want, and staying relatively out of foul trouble. Tony Parker is doing whatever he wants against Nash, same with Amare against the Spurs. Duncan is going to need to make an impact at the defensive end to win this game. I think he's just biding his time(and fouls) for the 4th. |

in the end you are probably right, but many of the folks that have votes like you might take the same route, so don't rule it out, but yes Kobe wins in the end, sorry, and I can't debate it. |

Looks like the Spurs made the needed defensive adjustments so far. Suns only have 2 points in the first 9 minutes. The Spurs also got some of their role players to step up, with Udoka and Finley combining for 14 points in the 3rd. |

That was a little distressing, but again I'm not ready to count out Phoenix just yet...they just have to hold serve at home now |

So far, the playoffs are making me itchy and twitchy. LeBron's up 2-0 on the Whiz, my Mavericks could realistically get swept by Nawlins, and now Phoenix is down 0-2 to a very dominant looking Spurs team. The only upside is that the Rockets have been getting their asses handed to them in the absence of Rafer Alston. That injury is hurting them as much as we thought it would. I love Utah. And I hate McGrady, so it all works out well. I think it's a safe bet to say that San Antonio, Nawlins, Utah, and L.A. will all be in the second round. Any combination of those four teams would make a hell of an exciting Western Conference Finals series. Fuckin Chris Paul. He's awesome. I hate him. |

Fuckin Chris Paul. He's awesome. I hate him. I expect all those teams to advance, but all they did(except Utah, who will sweep Houston) was hold homecourt advantage. A series doesnt start untill a road team wins. 5 of the last 10 series in which San Antonio jumped up 2-0 they ended up coming back home 2-2. |

Boston kills the Hawks again and Detroit takes care of business with a 17 point win. I doubt the Lakers/Nuggets series is more competitive than these have been, but one can hope. Its funny that the O/U was 229 for that game and I wasnt sure what was the better bet. |

Not that the playoffs have any bearing on MVP but if they did I would argue Paul has actually enahanced his candidacy more than Bryant so far in the playoffs. |

Atlanta is totally out of their league, it's terribly obvious. I get so frustrated with Marvin Williams, he's just so awful at times. I can't even look at him without seeing Chris Paul And Bibby has done nothing. Rondo is schooling him and it's embarrassing |

Being able to score at will on a team that plays no defense is how the mvp should be judged. I think Allen Iverson just got another technical. |

Others (Marion, Childress) may have uglier forms, but I'm cringing every time this guy chucks one up |

Yes. Josh Smith's game disturbed me yesterday. Good athlete but offensively the guy seems to have the basketball IQ of a Tyrus Thomas. By the way, when did Mike Bibby suddenly forget how to play basketball? Apparently he left his skills in Sacramento. |

By the way, when did Mike Bibby suddenly forget how to play basketball? Apparently he left his skills in Sacramento. Well to be fair I think we knew he was in the twilight of his career, but this is beyond embarrassing. It was hilarious to hear Mike Woodson try to explain why he was putting Acie Law in the game between the quarters...."he knows how to initiate our sets"...uh yeah....dude was 4-4 from the field and 4-4 from the line and actually has some athleticism...I'd seriously consider benching Bibby the rest of the series. Everything grinds to a halt when he has the ball and he's not shooting well at all. |

It's fairly obvious that I am a Carl Landry fan, but the Rockets just seem to be a better team when he is on the floor. He could be in line for a nice contract in the offseason since he was a second round pick. |
