I know it's a little early, but I'm calling these teams done. Dallas-Kidd trade was a failure. The team hasn't been the same since they pretty much had the title won. It almost was like you could see the exact moment when Jason Kidd lost his status as an elite point guard on that flagrant foul. Phoenix-Shaq move was a needed gamble, but it didn't pay off. The Spurs just own that team. They'll have to rebuild around Amare and hope the Spurs get old fast. These are the only ones that I think are clearly over. Houston and Atlanta are in poor shape, but I can still see a way that they make it a competitive series and maybe even force a game 7. Atlanta must win tomorrow. |

Avery Johnson will probably be getting the pink slip soon. |

We have our first official team gone in the series that the NBA seemingly wanted to hide. I don't think a weekday game was shown on real tv. The Raptors are gone. |

Never found out the root of it. Anyways New Orleans is without a doubt my adopted team now. I cant remember ever liking an athlete not affiliated with my favorite teams as much as Chris Paul. He was among my top 2 or 3 favorite players going into the season, and now that hes legitimately one of the 5 best players in the league its even better. I cant wait to see how he does against San Antonio. Plus its damn near impossible to not like David West and Tyson Chandler. Theres still room on the wagon Kid. |

Im definitely in the minority here based on comments by you, Bagels, Nas, etc. but I dont think Dirk is a choker or soft. I think he can definitely be the best player on a championship team. I think he punked out last year, but in general I hate the team built around him. He is the only Maverick that showed up to play this series. You definitely cant pin this one on him. He showed just how soft he isnt when he went toe to toe with Duncan a couple years back in a classic Game 7 and came out on top. I think they definitely need to overhaul the team, but keep Dirk. I do, however, agree with Nas that it was beyond stupid for them to reject the Kobe for Dirk straight up trade. |

Well Farvio, the Dallas love goes back to around 2001 when Nash, Nowitzki, and Finley were the big 3 for that team. Finley (fellow Proviso East alum) and Nash were my favorite players in the league at that time. The Dallas love kinda carried over even after Finley & Nash left Dallas. I think it might be time for me to adopt another team unfortunately. Maybe Utah. |

i know, i'm a bit biased though because i really didn't like when they got rid of nash. i thought they had a much better chance winning, and i just liked their chemistry. the mavericks just sometimes seem lost in the playoffs...and while dirk is doing his thing, i just don't see them coming together as a team when they need to. |

I loved Bill Simmons idea that if the Jazz/Hornets met in the West Finals, the winner gets to keep the name Jazz, since Utah Jazz is almost mutually exclusive. Oh and by the way you need to jump on the Hornets bandwagon having NO roots and all and since I cant be the only one on here pimping the Hornets and Chris Paul(mainly just Chris Paul). |

I don't know. I think I need to get Regular Reader to make that final decision. |

I know we're all pretty much in agreement that Kidd is washed up, but do you think if the Lakers had made the trade for him instead it would have worked out better for him? |

Well it couldnt hurt to play for Phil instead of Avery. I dont really know how Kidd would fit in the triangle offense though, since they rely on 3 point shooting PG's and let Kobe handle the ball alot. |
