I think this will be one of the weirdest seasons I can remember. I am starting to get afraid that we are good enough for Paxson to think we can compete with this roster. I don't know if he can make the trades he needs to make if we are sitting in the 7th spot in the East. I almost hope that we get a season of Derrick Rose playing well but the team struggling so we can build for the future rather than think we are there already. The trade deadline should be interesting no matter what. |

i think that the NBA-themed threads are all going to be missing a lot of good knowledge without FarveFan and his excellent contributions throughout the season. |

Well Farvio is certainly missed. You're right about that. But we got Nas, Bagels, Boilerdick, and City of Fouls this year. |

Derrick Rose has given me a reason to care about the NBA before April so I'll probably be more involved. |

my heart was shot to bits by the Kings' inability to get past the Lakers. But the Hornets, Warriors, Suns, Trailblazers and other run and gun teams have won me back... |

There are a couple of teams I'm very interested in watching. In the East, I really like the Philadelphia 76ers to make that next step forward. I think Elton Brand's addition along with Andre Iguodala & Sam Dalembert makes the Sixers very formidable, and I won't be shocked if Philadelphia is a Top 5 team challenging for home court in the first 2 rounds of the NBA Playoffs. Out West, although I'm not so sure he's a true rookie after missing all of last season with a knee injury, I think Greg Oden will be a handful and the Portland TrailBlazers will be another team to watch as the NBA gets ready to tipoff. |

see SHARK, the Sixers will be good, but Brand is going to slow their style of play down a little, I think. He's got a great game, but I get bored watching him... |

Bill Simmons makes a good point about them, they still don't have a go to guy down the stretch. Still, I was very impressed the way the played the Pistons defensively in the first round last year. Swarming. Adding a solid shot blocker like Brand certainly can't hurt that. I think they'll be a stud defensive team and at times struggle offensively. |

As I've stated before, I think your Hawks are better w/o Childress...so I'll be sleeping on them less... |

Just curious- how do you think they're better w/o him? He was a great energy guy, 6th man, wing defender. It's not like he had irreplaceable qualities but I don't see how losing him is a good thing, apart from not overpaying him (which I would not have been in favor of doing just to keep him) |

great energy, but an awful jump shot form...I guess he was a good defender... |

Orlando is on strike. They will not play defense until Van Gundy shaves off his stache... |
