Fans, the first NBA head coach firing was revealed earlier today. P.J. Carlesimo, who is best known for putting the Seton Hall basketball program on the map in the early '90s & being on the receiving end of getting choked by Latrell Sprewell in practice when he coached the Golden State Warriors, was given his walking papers today by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the former Seattle Supersonics. Carlesimo's Thunder were 1-12 and lost 10 in a row when he was fired. Assistant Scott Brooks takes over as the team's interim head coach. Needless to say, no one said it was going to easy for Oklahoma City as a full-time NBA city. |

You're not going to draw fans in a new "city" by going 1-12. |

Isn't this a little early to fire a coach of an expansion team? If not, then why the hell is Kubiak still coaching the Texans???? |

I don't think people think of the Thunder as an expansion team, all the players and the organization came from Seattle. It's more like when the Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens. |

Colonel Angus is absolutely right. What happened here is that when the Seattle Sonics moved to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder this season, they couldn't take the green & yellow colors of the Sonics with them. This isn't an expansion team, and it's similar to when the Browns moved to Baltimore, but also couldn't move the colors & logos with them when Art Modell moved the team out of Cleveland. |

Ok, I'm , so I'll give you that.... but WHY is Kubiak still coaching the Texans?? |

Bum Phillips is a little too old to be coaching anymore. *genuflect to Coach Phillips* TRUE STORY: My family was in Lubbock at a Pizza Inn, heading home from a ski trip in Santa Fe, when we heard Bum had been fired. I remember burning my mouth on too hot pizza cheese that then slid on my leg and left a blister on my thigh through my jeans. I don't know what that means, except Houston football teams have mostly sucked in my life time. |

I could've sworn Bum Phillips just celebrated a birthday... |

Couldn't be happier, hope the Sonics go 1-81 and then get the 3rd pick in the draft. Team is already getting booed and only the first couple games were sellouts, lifetime douchebaggery award for David Stern. Just what the NBA needs, another small market team no one knows about. |
