It's a done deal. WOW! Right now I would put the Magic as my early pick to win it all.

Yeah, because how can you bet against the proven playoff record of Vince Carter?

The pendulum is swinging back to the East. Cavs got better, Magic got better, and Celtics will be back with a healthy Garnett.

I thought that the Magic did not have a lot of money, because I heard throughout the playoffs that they won't be able to resign some of their key players in this upcoming offseason... this move sounds like it would be a heavy contract to take on board.

The Spurs look tough with Duncan, Parker, Manu, and Jefferson. Still can't write off the Lakers, with or without Odom back.

Well, the Lakers just beat the Magic, and I doubt that swapping out Lee for Carter would have swung the series the other way.

I'm not as high on Nelson as you are, and I don't think Carter is that valuable anymore.

I do agree they got better today, but I'm not ready to hand over the 2010 trophy.

If I had to choose a favorite right now, I'd probably go with the Spurs.

Am I missing something? How does Vince Carter fit in on this team to make them markedly better than before? They just got worse defensively. Carter is a black hole on offense. Does this mean they won't resign Turkoglu? Who's going to divide up the shots? How does Howard develop on offense when he'll just be relegated to getting put backs and alley-oops?

Is everybody forgetting that this is not the Vince Carter from 2000 through 2002? Vince is a dog on offense and defense and has been for years now. He'll occasionally have a night where he'll be motivated to score 20 or more, but the next night he'll likely score 12. This does nothing for Orlando.

You mean like Hedo? How many big shots did he hit at the end of games in the playoffs?

I disagree, although he's obviously not in Carter's league when he's at the top of his game.

I'm with you Nas. Carter still is one of the top players in the league. He only averaged 16 attempts per game. That is only 4 shots a quarter. Besides his scoring ability, VC also averaged 5 boards and 4.7 assists and 1 steal per game. Howard will be a major benefactor of alot of assists by VC.

NJ gave up on Carter by trading away his support players (Kidd and then RJ). He will be rejuventated again playing with Orlando.

Hedo is a much more proven clutch player than Carter is. And you're wrong that he cant create off the dribble. That dribble-dribble step back three he has is almost unguardable, and has worked numerous times, and he also has the ability to get off 17-18 footers in traffic at the end of games with a decent amount of success.

I disagree with TM that Hedo is not as good as Carter. By all accounts this means they are definitely not resigning Turkoglu. I think thats a mistake. I think he is much better for Orlando than Vince.

I agree with Bucket my early favorites are the Spurs, especially after the steal of the draft last night, if healthy. The Lakers are right there too, as are a healthy Celtics squad.

Magic are gonna make a run at Sheed. I thought they didn't have any cap space but maybe Hedo leaving opens it up. The starting 5 could be Howard, Sheed, Lewis, Cater and Nelson.
