After watching almost every single game MJ was physically able to play in, he played. Even if it was just only for a half, he always played.
He never publicly said anything bad about another player or team, however on the court he ripped them a new asshole.

The guy took every question from every media member every single game.
Yes, all this was part of honing the dream marketing image, but is any of this really that hard?
Oh winning 6 rings, MVP's, slam dunks, etc didn't hurt either, but the stuff above is what seperated him from just being a great NBA player to "The Man"

First James needs win something, which he could do this year and we will see how he handles it, if he wins.

I know a ton of people like to call him great and better than MJ, as people compare the 2 at the same age, but I think when MJ was 25 he had Q dailey, O Woolridge and D corzine as his supporting cast. Would love to see James run with that bunch.

Don't remembber Jordan,Magic Johnson or Larry Bird ever get called out for dancing during a game. Lebron was not a pro with that move, regardless of his young age,he should know better.

i'm really starting to tire of him too, his interviews/press conferences in particular.

he tries to sound smart and it comes off really forced sounding, like he's trying to emulate kobe and jordan. for all i know jordan and kobe could be borderline retarded but they still seem to carry themselves and speak as if they're intelligent and for some reason it's believable to me, but lebron comes off as a guy who is trying WAY too hard

I agree. The Cavs are beating a team they should be beating. It's not like he just drained a three at the buzzer for a game 7 win. He really hasn't broken a sweat yet this entire series.

Act like you've been there before, asshole

Seriously. You scored 40 against a 41-41 team. BFD. Do it in a game that matters (championship game) and you can dance your heart out.

On that same note, Noah needs to shut his mouth also. He's probably going to get swept or lose this series in 5 games, why is he talking shit?

I don't know the stuff Noah said about the town of Cleveland was pretty funny and true. I like that David Aldridge gave him a chance to apologize and he didn't back down from his stance that its a dump. Athletes are too politically correct these days it is nice to see an athlete speaking his mind that isn't a complete idiot like Ocho Cinco

I have a hard time disliking the guy. He can pretty much do whatever he wants on the court at any time. Gotta respect that. I give a shit about post game interviews. They almost always suck. He's never struck me as dumb or fake. He could use a little polishing, but it doesn't seem to hurt him any. The extra stuff on the court doesn't really bother me because he backs it all up. Nothing like completely demoralizing your opponent...

I dislike the on court dancing and flexing, it's just very low class in my opinion. But the wink he gave the Bulls bench when he drained the 3 with Deng in his face was awesome. That was very Jordan-esque.

Although it was college i think noah knows what it takes to win and gets frustrated easily when the bulls are not playing to his standards. I'm ok with everything that noah does because it always about winning and nothing else. he has a little bit of that jordan in him in that the crowd booing him made him step his game up. I didnt like him at all last year really but this year he is one of my favorite bulls.

As far as James goes I think Barkley said it best after the game. The cavs are not here to beat the bulls. They are supposed to. they are probably supposed to beat the team in the next round too. they are here to beat the magic and the lakers and thats about it.

Also the comment was made about this past game (game 2) that it felt much like the boston series that went 7 but there was one thing missing, Ben Gordon. Charles stated the obvious, we need a big man that can score and a shooter. heinrich is a sixth man and a role player now that we have rose. Noah is a hustle scorer meaning he is not going to post up and consistently score.

+1

I laughed my ass off too....I caught a few minutes of "shake that"'s show last night, and he was pretty much saying Noah should have gave a canned response. that he should have just said some BS about he's focused on the next game or something. i thought it was awesome that one of the next few callers asked him if he really thought Noah's focus was going to be affected by some opinion he had about Cleveland or about Garnett or whoever. loho didn't really have an answer.

who the hell *wants* a canned response...that is partly why Barkley is so popular and the TNT show is the best pregame show there is...its NOT canned responses and actual opinions are being bandied about. i'm in total agreement w/ you guys- i think he should say whatever the hell he wants. and i also think the "bulletin board material" thing is overrated and bullshit. i can MAYBE see it getting the other team riled up for the first few minutes of a game, but you're telling me in the 4th quarter of a game a player is really thinking of a comment an opposing player said a few days ago???

What do half of them care anyway. besides lebron who else even grew up in the cleveland area on the cavs? besides zydrunas how many of them have been in cleveland for more than 3 years? vrajao maybe. furthermore i'm SURE none of them live remotely close to the areas noah is talking about.

I'm not saying he should quiet down because of sportsmanship garbage or "bulletin board material", Im saying he should quiet down because the Bulls are getting their asses handed to them.

It's like Alex Brown doing the Gator Chomp after a sack when the Bears are down by 4 touchdowns.

no, i get your point- losers aren't allowed to talk shit. pretty basic.

in my mind last night i was also revisiting the Noah-Horford debate we had recently....for a brief moment I thought Noah might be better, but I quickly reconsidered.

for simple reasons, too: if you're talking shit and you're losing, you just look like a sore loser. if you're talking shit and you're winning, you look like either a) you're rubbing it in, or b) nas's best friend.

On my first drive through cleveland I would completely agree with Noah. Aside from the area with the rock n roll museum and the browns stadium it looks like detroit. There is a Hospital/med school area and an art museum that are nicely landscaped but its about 20 blocks of old concrete and brick between the two areas.

This is the stance I lean more towards. However, how this year's playoffs unravel will shape my image of LeBron more than the past few years. Last year was the first year his team lost a series they were favored in, and he handled it horribly. He seems more focused than ever to win a title, and whoever comes out of the East will probably be the favorite.

It's still too close to call, but his ppg ceiling is definitely higher than the 12 I often see it listed as.

He gets a lot of garbage points. Not really a knock, it's amazing he can get all those points on basically hustle alone. I wouldn't really call him a "scorer", but if he can get 25 in a playoff game on hustle, imagine what he could do if he learned a little spin move or worked on an elbow jumper...

Well, sorta. He's certainly not a "scorer", but his points werent really garbage points. He showed enough ability to drive past guys and finish at the hoop, and outmuscle guys in the post. He pretty much played a great game and was one of the driving factors in it being a 3 point game with only a few minutes left.
