Nocioni is owed $6.85M, $6.65M and $7.5M over the next three seasons.

Not a very good jersey investment on my part.

Sacramento was motivated to get out of Nocioni's deal, and now have an expiring deal after next season so I understand why they made the move. Hawes seemed to be in/out of the doghouse last season as well. I'm sure Collins will love Nocioni's hustle, but don't see this move helping either team very much.

I like Hawes, and maybe he'll get to his potential there.

Brad Miller is a lot to aspire to

I think Dalembert brings a defensive presence that neither Noc or Hawes are capable of providing.

Not sure about that at all. He might improve. It's not good to see a third year guy who was a high pick regress. Dalmbert probably wont get back to his level of play of a couple years ago, but Hawes wont ever be a good NBA player IMO. I dont see this trade as all that significant, although I can see why the Kings did it.

Brad Miller is a lot to aspire to

If Hawes becomes Brad Miller I would consider that a success. The guy had a pretty decent career. He is on the downside of it now, but he was once above average.

Hakim Warrick is better than both combined.

I think that is basically what bagels is saying. At the very best all Hawes will ever be is Miller. But more than likely he wont even reach that level.

yeah I was half joking but I agree...I also think Dalembert is the best player in the deal, if a coach could get him to reach his potential. i think he has the most raw skills and has shown the most "flashes"

I'll be shocked if Hawes has the career Brad Miller had.

I don't think Hawes is the best player in this deal. Dalembert can offer the best defensive precence with his shot blocking ability and can be a double digit rebounder for short stints. Heading into a free agent season, he could put up some nice numbers next season. I do like Hawes - he does need to become more consisent though.

Which means he is on the back 9 of his career. Hawes just made 22 and if you look at his numbers you will notice he didn't actually regress. He put up the same numbers based on minutes played. He was forced to share minutes with guys like Jason Thompson after coming back from an injury. Hawes will be a double double guy if he gets 35 mins and he is easily the best player in the deal going forward.

Hawes is a pretty bad rebounder given his size. I think it's pretty safe to say he wont ever be a 10 rpg guy. He's a pretty big liability defensively. The Kings need someone like Dalembert way more than Hawes. I cant see Hawes ever becoming a decent player, he's had an abundance of opportunities given his draft slot and how horrible his team has been over that period of time.

Post subject:  Re: Dalembert to Kings for Nocioni, Spencer Hawes

He averaged 7 rebounds in 26 mins last year and averaged 11 and 7 in 29 mins the year before. It's not hard to imagine those numbers going up with more seasoning and more mins.
