Dan Gilbert (Cavs owner) hangs on for 1 more season, and then during the lockout year, the Cavs franchise is either sold back to the league or moved to another city (with another owner) and Gilbert purchases the Pistons from Bill Davidson's kids.

The Cavaliers are a serious candidate.

They may challenge for the worst record of all time....if it weren't for all the other awful teams in the conference.

Check out the 1998-1999 Bulls record and get back to me. The Cavs will probably still make the playoffs with their current roster.

What is this school? Why do I have to do the homework if you already know the answer?

62-20 and NBA Champs 97-98

13-37 and worst record in the Eastern Conference 98-99

Send the Cavs to Seattle.

I can see that happening. Cleveland fans won't be that much worse for wear.

I recall on a Bill Simmons podcast back in the Spring, Simmons was talking to a Cavs beat writer for the Plain-Dealer or whatever Cleveland paper and the Cleveland writer said that once Lebron left, the NBA would be dead in Cleveland. He backed it up by citing poll results his paper did this past season (ya know, when the Cavs were expected to win it all and the Browns sucked) which asked readers which outcome they preferred (not just for this season, but in general, overall, any season):

1. Cavs win the NBA Championship
2. Browns MAKE the Super Bowl (but don't necessarily win).

Overwhelmingly the Cleveland fans chose the latter result.

[quote="Carrie How pissed exactly is Byron Scott?quote]

I imagine Scott is a little down, but he is probably happy he has a coaching job, and if he turns the Cavaliers into anything, he looks like a great coach.

They could still be an 8th seed if they make the right moves

D-bag thinks so too. Heat 1 seed, Cavs 8 seed = off the cart ratings.

The current roster is still pretty solid without LBJ being there and they've got cash to spend because of the Lebron and Shaq deals off the books. The state of this team is much better than the garbage heap at the bottom of the eastern conference. Obviously they won't contend for a title, but I still think they could pull a 7th or 8th seed in the east.

What are you talking about, 7 or 8 seed? They still have Varajeao, he's one of the best finishers in the game. They'll be fine

C'mon man. FarveFan isn't even around to defend himself. Don't attack his guy.
