Yeah, not exactly the best defense, or the most engaging or credible writer.

fwiw, Lebron spent quite a bit of time in the gym ( reportedly with Chris Paul) during the free agent hoopla of the last 10 days.

Paul's supposed to be joining James/Wade/Bosh in Miami after the lockout season.

Impossible to say, new CBA and new salary cap rules will be in place after the lockout.

The NBA has a date with which free agent contracts cannot be signed beforehand. That date was Thursday. What a coincidence.

On the first day a contract could be signed, James makes his decision and announces it.

In his announcement, he was very professional. He didn’t criticize anyone, but simply stated that he wanted to go to a new place where he thought he could win a title. He gave his reasons basing it on NBA history and he was absolutely right about what it takes. He talked about a new challenge and how it was time for him to embrace it. He mentioned how painful it was to leave Cleveland and that his heart would always be there along with many friends and family.

The entire interview was probably about 15 minutes.

So in the end, Lebron takes less money (almost unprecedented), to go somewhere with an excellent chance at winning it all (or at least better than his previous situation), and he gets a chance to play with a couple of his very good buddies, in a city that most anybody would rather live in compared to his previous city.

Maybe we should be ashamed?

Lebron couldn't win no matter what he decided.

If he stayed in Cleveland, many would've said that LBJ was not about winning. Clearly that supporting cast in nowhere near the level of the Heat or the Bulls.
Had he stayed in Cleveland, he also may have been accused of being all about the money....as Cleveland would've been able to offer the most years, at the most money possible. Additionally, he would've been accused of having his massive ego massaged by meeting with the 6 teams interested in his services, only to stay put in the end.

And if he left Cleveland....well you see what he's been criticized for. He's not loyal, he's riding coattails, he's selfish, his ego is out of control, he's not man enough to try to build a champion from within, he's no longer able to compete for the title of greatest ever along with Michael, Kobe, etc......

Maybe we should be ashamed?

That's stupid. So because he's not a criminal he's a good guy? TO isnt a criminal either. Everyone's getting sick of his phony ass global icon shit. He needs to understand he's a basketball player, not the President. When he was doing The Decision and the stupid intro thing with Miami, like others have pointed out I bet Kobe was in a gym somewhere getting ready for #6. IMO the Kobe vs LeBron argument is dead now

As a few have said, maybe fans are the only people that care about the Jordan comparison and LeBron will be quite happy playing with his buddies in Miami. There are worse thing in basketball than being Scottie Pippen.

Unless the CBA allows redoing contracts and the three amigos or whatever the fuck they're calling themselves agree to cut their pay in half they wont have money for Paul. We dont know exactly what the new cap will be but we know it wont change much because its based on the NBA's revenue and if anything it will go down after the lockout, but will probably be roughly the same. And Stern will not have an NBA with no cap.

Yea that was a real big deal for him to take less cash, how altruistic of him.

Noone would have mentioned the money, and the ego thing would be brought up but not for the decision but The Decision, like WZ said. And thats a very valid criticism. And all the criticisms you mentioned for leaving Cleveland are very valid. So no, we shouldnt be ashamed. That's ridiculous.
