Sorry guys. The Hawks are the Utah Jazz of the East; they'll make the playoffs every year, usually getting to the second round, ultimately losing out to better teams. They've been that way even going back to the 80s with the Dominique/Doc Rivers teams. They'll always be just good enough to get you beat. |

that bring up an interesting point people (perhaps deservedly so) skewered the Hawks for resigning Joe Johnson to a max deal What about Dirk? He signed the same type of deal 4/80 and has never led them to anything except a choke job in the Finals. in all seriousness though haven't the Mavs proved, as they are currently constructed, that they too are only capable of advancing a round or two? I'm not saying that Joe Johnson is better or that i'd rather have him than Dirk, only that the contract was equally ridiculous seeing as they're going nowhere with him as their centerpiece |

Either way, the Hawks and the Mavs are about the same deal. Neither team is going to win anything in the NBA. So whether they are overachievers or underachievers they are both losers and probably always will be. |

No it isn't. I have really been more of a Dirk fan than a Mav fan, so when Dirk is done there I will probably not care much about them anymore. At least I have that to look forward to. You have probably already answered this somewhere around here, but how did you get to be a Hawk fan? |

You have probably already answered this somewhere around here, but how did you get to be a Hawk fan? I think it was around the time Josh Smith came into the league, i really liked his game. I just kinda grew to like the rest of the team from there- I always liked Horford's game too. I guess I would say the NBA is my favorite so just from watching so many out of town teams there's bound to be players that I like. Just in general I like most of the players on the Hawks, really Bibby is the only one I never really cared for. I just liked their style of play, that's all. I thought they were a fun, energetic and up-and-coming team and that Celtics series was really one of the funnest playoff matchups in the last few years. Unfortunately they're probably no longer up and coming but have kind of hit their ceiling. |

Oh ok, so it has been fairly recent then. For some reason I was thinking you were a long time Hawks fan. I was just reading a rumor page a couple hours ago that said Josh Smith may get traded. What are your thoughts on that? |

What are your thoughts on that? yeah no I actually hated their teams in the 90's Mookie, Dikembe, Steve Smith....horrible uniforms and boring teams that's very interesting about Josh, i hadn't heard that....i just saw it now about him or Kaman headed to Detroit. Good god would that suck. Atlanta is so fucked up. They're putting him on the block because of the financial burden of signing big contracts according to Yahoo. Well geez morons, maybe you should have thought about that before giving JJ 20mil per. Smith's deal I think is very reasonable- he makes 11, 12 and 13 mil the next 3 years. That's a pretty good value for a defensive force. I wouldn't mind if they traded him to a team I liked..but good god the Pistons? |

Garnett is known for it. I have no issue with what he said. its not like they were both standing in line for communion and Garnett said that, they were playing basketball. and yes, Villanueva does suck. he should be more concerned with practicing and improving his game than getting offended by trash talk |
