last night he did it to Shane Battier, who is an average player but who plays Kobe tough...gotta wonder why Kobe would kiss up to such a player (note: I like Battier)

Kobe has long established a reputation as being hated by many players and teams

feeling this, Kobe hugs and butters up stars on the opposing team after games the last couple years

is he looking for sympathy for when his career heads into the twilight?

is he being condescending to those players, with the attitude that Kobe is the best player, and he wants to convey the perception that "if Kobe complements u, it should mean something" ?

not really looking for a debate here as much as it's just way too flat-out noticeable
