I have no idea what the NBA is asking the players to take as a cut, but I watch enough games to see New Jersey games with 1,000 people or ATL games with 3,000 people.

Per the NBA the losses are in the $100's of millions. If true, they are not close and won't be for a long time.

Will all these players going to China and Italy to play be better than sitting out and not being seen? or if the NBA comes back will this be good.

The NBA wants to reduce their pay by $100M next season and basically freeze it the next 10 years. That will probably bring the only an additional $2B or so over that time. They also want to roll back current contracts and bring in a hard cap (which would force Miami to trade one of the Big 3). At one point they wanted to get rid of guaranteed contracts.

While it sounds drastic, is it warranted? If so, players need to make the changes

Would be amazing to see this league start up and watch guys not be allowed to play because of their contracts.

Wonder where my guy Jerry is on this one. Will wait a little more and make some calls.

Bulls are the team making big $$$, thus they dont want any changes.

I'm sure the NBA is in a far worse situation than the NFL. Some major changes probably need to be made because some owners are losing money but the reality is the owners have created this problem by themselves. Throwing stupid money a borderline all star players. Hell Rashard Lewis was the highest paid player in the NBA at one point. Since there is no way to protect NBA owners from themselves they will likely be back here in a decade. Jerry has been one of the few owners that has been smart (Ben Wallace contract was awful) when it came to passing out big contracts.

Last year the NBA loaned out $220 million to teams to meet financial obligations per my guy. Yes, they needed to pay it back and ask partners for cash calls.
