OH SNAPS. Literally. Listed as day-to-day, no official word on loss of playing time. |

Yeah, I saw him go down really hard on the wrist. He is lucky he didn't break it. |

NOTE: If this was reported by Chris Broussard, it would have read: "Sources report that Kobe Bryant has a broken neck, femur, and torn ligament in wrist. Also has just been traded to the Boston Red Sox for Nomar Garciaparra and the Stanley Cup." |

Supposed to play Sunday...from the trib. Bryant, who injured the wrist during Monday's opening exhibition against the Clippers, participated in practice Tuesday. Indications were that he would play Sunday in the regular-season opener against the Chicago Bulls, but his status is uncertain. Bryant underwent an MRI that determined he had a torn lunotriquetral ligament, which stabilizes two of the smaller wrist bones on the outside part of the wrist. Bryant was wearing a plastic brace around his injured wrist at the team's training facility Wednesday afternoon. "If it's a complete tear, it's more problematic," Keith Feder, a Manhattan Beach sports medicine specialist, told the Los Angeles Times. "Without being privy to the MRI, these types of injuries can take anywhere from several days to several weeks to heal completely, but depending on the pain level and with support, the athlete could play." |

I don't buy that he won't hurt himself further. You can't keep getting shots in your hand every game. He has to be doing major damage if his hands look like a boxing glove after every game. We know he's tough as nails but he needs to sit out. |
