Rubio is 21, Irving turns 20 soon. Who's gonna be the better pro? Obviously they are completely different players, and Rubio has a rarer skill set, but I'm leaning towards Irving right now. The only problem with Irving from Cleveland's perspective is he's almost too good too soon, single handedly keeping the Cave out of a top 7 pick next season. A rookie with those shooting percentages and 19 ppg should be getting a lot more attention, especially since he was the number one overall pick. |

I have not watched a single Cavs game this season but when has that ever stopped anyone from having an opinion here before. Rubio will have the better career. |

Based on the little I've seen, the Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio is as good as advertised. I think he has more to work with than the Cavs' Kyrie Irving has. The one problem? I don't think Rubio's T-Wolves or Irving's Cavs are going to be significantly better anytime soon, as long as the Thunder & Nuggets are the top 2 in the Northwest Division & the Bulls are the cream of a bad Central Division crop. In plain English, Rubio's the better NBA player long term. |

In plain English, Rubio's the better NBA player long term. The Central division isn't bad. The Cavs are a long shot but they have a chance to have four playoff teams, including 2 of the top 4 seeds. Considering Rubio is 20 games into his career and Love is a top 10-15 player in the league and getting better, and Minnesota already looks way better than last season, what makes you think Minnesota won't continue to get better SHARK? |

Well, the Bulls have a 3 game lead on the Pacers and the Bucks, I think, have the last playoff spot in the East over the Knicks right now. The Central is still the Bulls' division to beat for the forseeable future. |

If the Pacers go 44-22 but finish three games out, it doesn't make them bad. Compared to the other divisions in the East(especially when Orlando loses Dwight), the Central is the best. |

I'm not following. What do the Thunder, Nuggets and Bulls have to do with Cavs and T-Wolves getting significantly better (or even just better)? Are you saying that weaker teams can't improve if there's a dominant team(s) in the same division? |

Rubio with 4 points, 1 assist tonight. Looks like IMU's "pick your stat" blastoff theory didn't work out. |

I have a feeling he'll get it on one of these games Love is out. There are only 2. I have one more. I mean, last night he shot poorly which is unusual for him...he should shoot better, that'll give him double digit points. The assist numbers are low, and it doesn't help with Love being out, but I'm sure he'll find some more teammates against the worst D in the NBA. And finally, he had 7 rebounds last night. That isn't far off. They already played both games of Love's suspension. |

It's looking a lot more like Irvin as the season progresses. |

Rubio has a brutal FG% lately. Killing my fantasy team. Plus, his steals have gone down considerably lately as well. I think he is definitely hitting a wall. Obviously hasn't been able to adapt to the grind. |

Kyrie will be a good running mate for when Lebron returns there in two years. |

I knew he wasn't a good shooter. But consistently shooting 1-8, 1-7, 5-15 is just absolute shit. That is beyond terrible. That is horrific. |

Wow... That's a pretty bad typo. That's the first time I've ever seen "fear" and "hope for" interchanged like that. Nah, but seriously... Nobody still thinks Rubio is better than Irving, right? Maybe imu... |

Nobody still thinks Rubio is better than Irving, right? Maybe imu... huh? That wasn't that hard to follow. I was making a joke that the Wolves would be better off without Rubio than with him(obviously a joke and therefore not true). The "some truth to every joke" angle comes in during the last part of the post. I still like Rubio and think he's going to be a very good PG but the fact is he is not a very good PG yet and is clearly not as good a player as Irving so far... |

ok....i guess i didn't really get the joke part of it, sorry i agree irving is a better overall PG at this point. i think rubio is a better passer and plays the passing lanes well, gets a lot of steals..but irving is far and away the better scorer. depends on what you need |
