I know many of us experts have written them off but I think they could be dangerous. Rondo has arguably been the 2nd best PG in the NBA after Westbrook. His play could put the Celtics over the top against a team like the Heat because they don't have a great PG.

Rondo has been playing out of his mind lately, so I agree. Nobody in the East wants to face Boston in the first round of the playoffs. Kevin Garnett's balls be all up in yo face.

Rajon Rondo's Celtics are right now a first place team in the NBA's Atlantic Division while the 76ers have faded like an old pair of Levi's after a fast start. Tonight's game vs. the Bulls might be a Conference Semifinal preview.

I've long since been afraid of Rondo and I agree that he's the legit 2nd best PG in the game. Also, the whole Garnett at center thing seems to be working.

I wouldn't say it would be likely for them to upset a Miami, but it's possible. But it's a moot point anyway since the Bulls will continue their slide and eventually fall to 2nd place in the East, meaning that Miami would avoid Boston in the second round. And if the Bulls have to face Boston, Boston's going to the ECF.

Like Ugie said, Boston is the team that no one wants to face right now.

I think Rondo is good but I don't think you can be the 2nd best PG in the game if you are scared of shooting an open 18 footer...

Dammit Kid, don't start this shit already. You did the same thing last year, and I won't stand for it!

This is it for a bunch of them though. Up and comers like Chicago and Almost There's like OKC and Miami will be taking over soon. This shorter season helps maybe. But really, not a strong contender.

A while back, Celtics' V.P. of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge was on the flagship of the Celtics' Radio Network, WEEI Sports Radio Network in Boston. When they were struggling, Ainge seemed ready to part company with veterans like Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen at the NBA Trade Deadline. Right now, it seems like the right move not dealing these guys.

That was before the C's made their run...at the top of the Atlantic Division standings.

So you get bounced out of the 2nd round and the Celtic's don't contend again for a decade? Sounds like a good plan SHARK.

In the playoffs there are days off between games. I think if Rondo continues to play at the top of his game the Celtics can beat anyone. If Rondo doesn't get hurt last year there is a great chance the beat the Heat.

If Rondo is making that shot he's the best PG in the NBA.

He doesn't make it often enough. Derrick is better. It's close though, although some here dont think so.

Still, Boston can't beat Chicago in a 7 game series. Chicago is too big and too good. I think they have a better chance against Miami because they match up with them much better but I still will be shocked if the Bulls and Heat don't meet in the ECF.

IMO Rose is currently the 3rd best PG in the NBA behind Paul and Westbrook.

Then you must have long term memory damage of events that happened longer than three weeks ago. Rose absolutely destroyed any Paul/Rose comparisons by dominating him so badly in LA the Clippers crowd gave him MVP chants. I'm not sure why you think Westbrook is better. He's even less of a true PG than Rose is and isn't as talented as Rose, Paul, Rondo, or Deron.

I'm basing it off what I've seen this year. Westbrook has been the best PG and CP3 has been the best pure PG.

When Rose was healthy at the beginning of the season he was outplaying them by a significant margin. If we are going by purely this season I'd say Rondo, Paul, Westbrook in that order. Westbrook's decision making has been atrocious and his defense has regressed, a terrible sign for a player that young.

Over the last month or so Rondo has been great but for some reason he doesn't always play this way. I love what he's doing against Miami.
