ESPN treats the NBA like something it doesn't mind doing in addition to NFL/MLB/NCAA, and it shows. TNT treats the NBA like it matters.

I wish NBC Sports got back in the NBA biz myself. ESPN/ABC does a lousy job covering the game, much like they cover NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series starting in Indianapolis. C'MON MAN!

What I liked about the NBA on NBC was that they would put 2 or 3 games on every Sunday and sometimes on Saturdays too. Plus having Marv Albert was entertaining for the broadcasts.

Do you know when ESPN's deal is up? Maybe there's hope yet. And maybe now that Comcast Sportsnet is in the Big Happy NBC Family, they can use the John Tesh music for local games, though it just wouldn't be the same for some perfunctory Bulls-Timberwolves weeknight game, now would it.

I hope Turner makes a run at getting an exclusive deal for the NBA playoffs. NBC would just fuck it up anyways, and I don't want to hear Bob Costas doing play by play on a NBA telecast ever again. That almost ruins Jordan's final moment in a Bulls uniform.

I did. He was good back in the early 90's. Later he developed Brent Musberger Big Head syndrome. Started pumping his tires a little more than he should have and became difficult to listen to.

Some of the TV people act like Bob is some kind of sports legend.

NBC? All I remember is Walton, Isiah Thomas and Matt Guokas. That was the best they could do? That chick that does color for some NBA games is better than any of those guys were. Though the Czar and Marv were ok. But I cant stand the term "from downtown". Other announcers are using this too and its stupid. Why not "from uptown"? Or "from timbucktoo"? "From the arc"?
