Asik getting some interest from Rockets and Blazers

 The Nets are so damn dumb.

Lakers still shopping Pau hard, but for a high pick/young talent. I'm not sure what they are trying to do.

Ray Allen is gonna be playing for Miami next season.

More from the rumor mill -

Blazers offer Hibbert a max contract

Raptors trying to ship Calderon to highest bidder, or any bidder really, to pursue Nash.

Rockets and Blazers prepared to offer Asik some money. Couldn't find how much. Daryl Morey isn't a great GM but he doesn't overpay for players usually. who the hell knows what Portland is trying to do.

T Wolves are gonna offer Batum $45-50M.

Hibbert would be a nice fit with Aldridge, but paying him Max Dollars is all kinds of dumb.

I wouldn't mind seeing Memphis get Ray. Just makes Mayo that much more expendable.

Nash getting a 3 year, $36M offer from Toronto. Can't blame the Raptors for it. If Ray goes to Miami I think there's a good chance Nash goes to Toronto. Especially considering the Blazers are throwing money at errrbody and drafted a PG at #6.

I'm a big Omer Guy, but there's no way the Bulls should match that.

Schuster thinks there's no doubt the Bulls match the Omer offer.

I really hope he's wrong.

No way. This will be the ultimate "So in love with his guys he needs to be fired" move from Pax.

Even if one were to somehow find a loon that would pay - for the sake of "fun" - the vast majority of the Boozer paper, $8+mil for Asik & Destory is depressingly high and doesn't do the cap any favors. Assuming Boozer will be paid all his money from the Bulls, then it's six weeks past crazy to match the offer .... I'd categorize it as a fireable offense, frankly.

I lied. One more Asik Tweet. And one more possibly painful ramification: If Omer is worth $8M annually, what will Taj want in extension?

What did he lie about and what's the initial ramification that preceded this?

Btw - another reason why KC Johnson sucks balls at NBA reporting is he actually believes if someone gives you a contract you are automatically worth that much in "NBA value". I guess he thinks Boozer is worth $15M/year since someone offered it to him.

Bulls could have trade Asik to the Rockets two years ago for Courtney Lee.

That would've been a bad trade. Glad they didn't do that.

I don't get the Courtney Lee love that the Bulls have been rumored to have for him. He's a bench player.

If Omer signs that contract then theres no doubt that Taj will look at that and think he should get more especially if the Bulls are foolish enough to match the offer

That's fine. He can think whatever he wants. If another team wants to give Taj that kinda money, good for him. He's still not worth that much.

Keep in mind that no NBA deals can be signed until Wednesday, July 11th. While I've heard the Bulls mention the names Kirk Hinrich and Brandon Roy, bad knees and all, as potential veteran PG replacements while Derrick Rose continues to fully recover from a torn ACL, they are in NO POSITION right now to be adding salary because of the salary cap hell they're in.

While I've heard the Bulls insist all along their plans to match any Omer Asik offers, this Rockets' offer might be too much. It's a bold move by that franchise down in Houston, but I wouldn't match the deal.

That's the idea, not just here, but on Facebook & Twitter, where SHARK can also be found.
