Sloan has to be at the top of the list.

.... and Mike Brown is one of the worst coaches ever. I could not believe the Lakers hired him.

agreed on both counts, but I doubt Sloan would do it.

The thought of Nash/Kobe or Nash/Gasol or Nash/Howard running pick and roll ala Stockton/Malone would make Lakers fans very happy

Good, that guy sucks. Add him to the top of MJ's list for Charlotte's next coach, though.

Honestly, they should have given the job to Brian Shaw when Phil retired. He was being groomed to take over for years now, and then the Lakers just let him walk away.

Way earlier than I predicted. I had him getting launched in January.

He never should've gotten that job.

Miami Heat get "Big 3", start of slow in first year, coach doesn't get fired.

Lakers get Big 3", start of slow in first year, coach gets fired by mid-November.

Fuck the power of the CSFMB. Bask in the power of Kobe Bryant.

It's "Big 4" actually. And bask in the power of a $30M luxury tax bill.

Probably has something to do with a major market difference, too.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
D'Antoni has the obvious Steve Nash connection, and is a favorite of Kobe Bryant from their long-time Team USA association.

Nash would love it, and it might work alright in the regular season. But I think Kobe would hate his style in the playoffs. The lack of D would really wear Kobe down.

I hear what you're saying, but it's not quite the same. It's been known that Mike Brown was a horrible coach back with Cleveland. A better coach probably wins a title with the Cavs in '09 or 2010.

Mike Brown getting the Lakers job was a shock, and frankly right now the Lakers are just trying to undo a mistake they never should have made in the first place.

D'Antoni is another really bad coach whose previous good regular seasons with the Suns have blinded GMs into giving him jobs.

I'm not disagreeing that Brown was a shitty coach, but I'd also say the same about Spoelstra. He's not exactly Red Auerbach, if you catch my drift.

If you're picking up what I'm laying down.

If you're catchin' what I'm throwin'.

Does Howard have to approve the next coach? He might be pouting again.

I thought Scottie had a contract with the Bulls.

Anyway, if that happened, I would be right with Nas on the Laker train. Imagine Pip snatching ring #7 as a coach, while Michael is still stuck at 6.

Looks like it might be Phil. Reports are that he's been in contact with potential asst coaches

If Phil is interested the search process ends immediately. Hand him the keys and get out of the way.

Nash, Phil, and Pippen may be enough to get me to actually cheer for them.

The Thunder and Heat have to be frustrated to hear this news.
