I'm finally believing enough despite Vinny(I still disagree with Kid, I think Vinny is a terrible coach), that the Clippers are a contender. I'm sticking with what I said a few weeks ago, I think the Grizzzlies are the best team in the NBA, but I think the Clips are better the Thunder and Spurs and are the 2nd best team in the West. I think those four teams and Miami are the five best teams in the league.

They are definitely fun to watch play and have a lot of talent. I am not sold they can handle the grind of the playoffs where they will be facing teams with better coaches who will exploit their weaknesses over the course of a series. I don't think I would put them above the Thunder yet.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has said from the getgo that the Clippers are the better team in Los Angeles than the Lakers, and so does the radio voice of the Bulls, Chuck Swirsky, who I follow on Twitter @swirsk054.

The Clippers are playing unbelieveable basketball right now and appear to be clicking on all cylinders following a franchise-record 14th straight win, a 112-100 triumph over the Nuggets late last night at STAPLES Center to wrap up ESPN/ABC's 5 pack of Christmas Day hoops.

The Clippers have won 14 in a row going into their game tonight vs. the Celtics @ around 9:45P. It's the second game of an NBA/TNT twinbill that starts with Mavericks/Thunder @ 7P.

The Grizzlies aren't the best team in the NBA. They don't have the pieces for it vis-a-vis the Heat, Clippers, Knicks, Thunder. Best case scenario, they gut it out with what they have and get a 3 seed in the West and get as far as they can before they hit a better team. Doesn't mean I'm not rooting for them to have an absolutely kickass season, of course.

And Vinny is a terrible coach who is currently inoculated from himself by having Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.

So Phil was a great coach by being inoculated by great players ???????

Well, that sentence doesn't even make sense, so I'm not entirely sure how to field that, but running a triangle offense requires coaching the hell out of already talented players. You can't run it with bums, or an idiot coach.

How many coaches run the triangle? Do you think Jordan, Kobe and the rest of those teams couldn't not win a Championship without the triangle.... you are a doofus!

Do I think Jordan and Kobe couldn't not win a championship? Is that like how nobody doesn't like Sara Lee?

Look, I'm going to have to ask you to compose something approaching semantically and grammatically valid sentences before I engage you any further.

All right champ. Do you think Phil Jacksons coaching won those championships ..or the talent he had? A combination of both is not a option!

Why am I a smart ass? I was legitimately asking. What's your handle?

And no, I don't want to follow Curious Hair or FavreFan. I'm looking for a man who really knows his sports.

Here you go @dan_bernstein

I think the Grizzlies have more talent than the Knicks. Both are well coached teams. The Grizzlies would beat San Antonio again also most likely, because of the matchup. SA just doesn't have enough bigs to throw at them. That could also end up being a problem for the Thunder because the Thunder play significantly better without Perkins on the floor. I wouldn't easily dismiss them. They should at least make it to the second round in the West and then who knows from there. I think they can beat any team in the league in a 7 game series. It'll take Gay stepping up in close games and Z Bo being engaged and aggressive, but we'll see.

I think they are the best team. I'm not 100% sure they will make the Finals. Those aren't contradicting statements Walt. A lot can happen with injuries and trades.

I think the aren't even in the top 3 teams in their conference OKC, LA, and the Spurs. GS or the Lakers might be better.
