I think she would be able to play. You gotta think she's better than Kyle Singler or DeSagana Diop or some of the other garbage that's still on NBA rosters.

She'd be the best player on my alma mater. That said, team 120 in D1 hoops is a long way from being 12th guy on an NBA bench.

The gap between men and women athletes is quite large when you get to higher levels.

I know men's bodies are different and better in general but the gap is closing isnt it?

Probably because she is a woman and physically most people don't think a woman can be in the same league as a man. I would honestly love to see someone give her a shot. People said the same thing about a lot of groups of people until they were given a shot. It would definitely put asses in the seats. I would take my girls to see it in a heartbeat.

We have an extra bone but we use it for a different type of swimming. I agree with your point.

When I was at Purdue, the women's team was elite. They won a national title. They would scrimmage against a team of boys who couldn't even walk on at Purdue and were basically good high school players. There were still height requirements. I think it was like 6'4 to be on the team. They went to practices and attended some games. They consistently beat the national championship quality team. They could shoot and defend but would get trounced on the boards and really struggle with any player who could dunk because not a single player on that team could in a game.

If basketball had weight divisions she could play.

11am is too early in the day to be drunk Nas. Although that is a dam man, that is not association level talent. I am sure the d league would take a flyer on that person.

I agree.

It's like a filly racing against colts. Some of them can do it. Some of them can even win a race against the boys. But when you try to do it consistently, they're just going to get worn down. These are the physical and biological realities of the differences in the sexes.

Could Griner throw up twenty in some given NBA game? Sure, but to play a season on a team? No fucking way.

There is like one case of a female wrestler winning a state title in this country at the smallest weight class which is typically made up of fresh and soph boys. Glenbard North had a girl qualify for state at 103 pounds a few years back. The next year she was bumped out of the lineup by a boy and could never get back in.

If you were take all of the Women's Olympic gold Medalist in track and place them in the IHSA Boys 3A track and field state championships, none of them would win individual titles. That is a statistical fact and not an opinion.

I've heard that argument made a few times and history has proven it to be incorrect.

Do you all think that players like Diop or Singler would even have NBA jobs if the league underwent contraction? You'd have to redistribute players on at-risk teams, like Monta Ellis, Cousins, Evans, Jennings, Gay, and so on. It'd probably reduce the talent gaps between teams and make for more entertaining basketball throughout the league.

Similar things have been said about women when it came to doing other jobs and many ethnic groups. My believe is we won't truly know UNTIL they are given the opportunity to try.
