Took longer than expected. Maybe they can keep Chris Paul now.

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski has clarified an earlier Tweet. The Clippers have elected NOT to renew Vinny Del Negro's contract as head coach. It turns out VDN's contract had expired and won't be rewarded with a new one.

  So he is out of a job without any compensation. Much better then.

It appears that way.

ESPN Radio/Bulls Radio Network's Chuck Swirsky Tweeted a short time ago that he'd like Phil Jackson to "shake it up in L.A." Even though I follow Swirsky on Twitter @swirsk054 and respect his opinion, I think Phil is more interested in a front office job if offered. I really believe Jackson has coached his last game.

Phil would take that Clippers job just to spite the Lakers.

Why would he coach again? I wouldn't. 67 or whateverand 11 championships put the feet up on the desk Phil.

I saw an interview somewhere in which Phil said something like his desired title was VP of basketball operations, or something similar. With his accomplishments, I'd understand why he wouldn't justify working under a generic GM who most likely is not as accomplished as Phil is. If that makes any sense, we can probably eliminate LAC from consideration.

Pittmike, even though Phil Jackson told Dan Patrick this morning that he was offered the Lakers' job before Mike D'Antoni got it instead, I don't think Phil has anything left to prove as a head coach. He's got more than enough rings. If he returns to the NBA, he'll do so as a front office executive.

He can't be much worse than Michael Jordan running the Charlotte Bobcats, soon to be renamed as the Hornets, can he?

Post subject:  Re: Vinny Fired

I heard or read a rumor in the last week or two of him running MJ's Bobhornets but I doubt it.

Wonder if Warriors lead assistant Mike Malone will replace Chris Paul's lead assistant, Vinny Del Negro.

SI/NBC Sports Radio's Chris Mannix tweeted moments ago that Phil Jackson also told Dan Patrick that the Clips haven't contacted him.

If they wanna keep Paul, they should probably trade Jordan and/or Griffin.

In his heart of hearts, Bernstein believes he would be better than Vinny if he coached.

Griffin for Boozer ok with me.

All hyperbole aside, he might be. Vinny is exceptionally bad at coaching. It's almost an accomplishment.

I don't know if the NBA would allow such a move. Not sure what Blake & Carlos' respective salaries are like.

The salaries match up, but the Clippers would obviously want a lot more for Blake.

As much as the Bulls need salary cap relief, I don't see Blake in a Bulls' uniform.

How 'bout Blake and Jordan for Deng and Boozer?

Guys, I don't think either trade is a go.

Bulls should try for Boozer for Lebron straight up.

A Blake/Love trade where the Clips throw in a bit extra makes a lot of sense for both teams...
