This board could use an infusion of new gimmicks and this is mine. Phil McCracken will highlight an NBA player of the day on the days that he so feels. Today......November 6th 2013....Terry Porter!

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/portete01.html

Look at that stat line....17 years in the league....Played in 72 mother fucking games at 38 years old for a Spurs team that had Duncan and was relevant......Of course we need to mention that he was the starting PG for the Blazers team that blitzed the West in 92 only to run into....

Image

But at the end of the day when your career lifetime lines are 83%FT....39%3PT and 12 points per game....over 17 motherfucking seasons.....Terry Porter.....you are the inaugural Phil McCracken NBA Player of the Day!

That Blazers team was pretty likeable.

Kersey, Drexler

I like the NBA when the Blazers are good

Yeah Blazers have good fans and usually entertaining teams. I definitely wanted the Blazers team with Pippen to take out Shaq and Kobe back in the early 2000's

Nice choice. One of the better players to come out of Wisconsin. Played under Dick Bennett at Stevens Point.

For 11/7/2013 the Phil McCracken NBA Player of the day I have chosen to spotlight the most famous number 45 in the history of the Chicago Bulls....

Poor Ed was out of town just before the championship gravy train started rolling through Madison St. but I guess with Will Perdue Krause figured he had the dopey white dude spot on the roster filled up.

Ed started 78 games in his career and managed a robust 2.7PPG average. The biggest tool in his NBA toolkit were the 6 fouls per game he could use to hack more talented big guys. But this feature is not to just celebrate the former stars of the NBA but to also shine a light on the under appreciated masses toiling away as an 11th man for 10 NBA seasons. So for today 11/07/2013 Ed Nealy....we salute you!

:salut:

That is the title of my absurdist play where two men patiently wait for Jon Konkak only to debate the existential meaning of the universe. Then in a twist Koncak shows and they give him 20 million dollars.

You could do a Jon Koncak/Joe Klein daily double.

Those Pacers teams were some of my favorite teams ever. Miller, Smits, Rose, Jackson, The Davises (Davii?) McKey, old washed up Mullin...

Certainly, I'm enjoying this to some extent. Could I request Scotty Pippen?

Did that Mr. Submarine business work out? Did he ever get out of jail on those gun charges? Quite naturally, I have questions on how his life turned out. We spent 3 or 4 years together with him as one of the people on my team.

YOU TELL HIM…I said hello.

Please don't delete the Jordan mult either. Probably one of the best ever, and not spammy at all.

If I knew that would be the last time I talked to him, I would have told him that I loved him.

And posted something funnier.

I was watching Minnesota again, as I am wont to do, and noticed yet again that my favorite NBA coach, Rick Adelman is really allowing Porter to be the verbal guy on his coaching staff. Seems like Rick hardly ever says anything anymore and Terry looks more and more like the official coach.
