Where do you believe he will be ranked all time when he retires? I think he's a lock for the top 10 but I'm not sure he has what it takes to crack the top 5.

he cant be top 5, because of how he did it.

the statement of 'he needed Wade to win" will be asked by future generations, and I dont like Wade!

didnt need Bosh, but he did it that way and it taints it all

No, he is the best and most complete basketball player in NBA history.

He's Jordan Pippen Magic and Bird combined into one dominant force

Already? You're a way bigger NBA guy than I am, but can that statement be made at 2 (set up) championships with Wade and Bosh?

All 3 of the other guys you listed won more than that on the team they helped "create".

I really don't see him as great as them at jump shooting. Might just be my perception as I haven't looked up Bernsie's metrics.

Also, I think Wilt Chamberlain might want to be in this discussion.

Jordan needed Pippen and Grant/Rodman. What's your point? Pippen> Wade Grant/Rodman > Bosh

Whoa whoa whoa

I'm a casual observer of non Bulls NBA and Derrick Roes fade into Bolivia has made it even less

But in my casual opinion, the conversation of LeBron as best ever can no longer be dismissed. Is there any are of the game he doesn't dominate?

but he couldnt win without Wade and Bosh. It will always be said. You can come back and tell me about Pippen, Worthy, McHale, etc etc etc all part of the team. Bird, Magic and MJ didnt need to call each other and make a team to win.

Could he have won without doing that? Maybe, but we will never know, because 'he chose to take his talents to South beach"

Tarnished the legacy...oh and MJ was 6-0 in Ring things. Not 2-2

The numbers and awards will be there, but the intangible wont.

Ignore RPB's basketball thoughts. We are talking about natural talent. I'm sure there may have been some NBA players with more natural talent then many of the all time greats. It's a results business.

Don't forget his reputation for folding like an accordion in the clutch for his entire career in Cleveland.

Yes, Wilt is there. Hard to compare big guys to guards. I'd sooner take Wilt over LeBron rather than Jordan

Clearly MJ didn't leave the Bulls to team up with Ewing or Hakeem. That's the point.

Scoring? He's led the league in scoring once.

I'm on your side of the fence. I just don't think you can take Pippen and Grant/Rodman out of the equation when talking about Jordan's championships. No doubt Lebron's will to win is not even close to the all time greats. Still you can't deny his physical talent. That said, he is top 10, but not in the top 5.

I will shock you with another thought. I am calling the Kobe and Lebron era the same as they overlap but not exactly parallel. And with health and so forth being equal I take Kobe over Lebron every damn time for my pick up NBA playoff team.

Late game heroics
Leadership

I could be Bernsteining/talking out of my ass here, but Wilt was a Greek God sent to earth in an NBA era dominated by the equivalent of 37 year-old tax accountants.

Can you imagine how great Jordan would have been with these rules? He may have scored every time he touched the ball.

Another comparison I like to think of is the players at his time. I believe that at his height, say after first three peat, not one NBA person would pick any other player in the league over Jordan. Not one. In this era you would get arguments and some would take others over Lebron.
