I wouldn't go. If I were a player, I wouldn't play. If I were an opposing player, I'd lose all respect for any established player that played for them in that game.

As a fan/Clipper I'd feel even more foolish given Sterling's past and, if I knew it, how I'd let myself be co-opted.

I flatly would find legal grounds to terminate my contract...or at least pr grounds that made it impossible for the team and league to try and enforce it.

Personally, I didn't go to White Sox games for years after '94 just because of Reinsdorf and his role in the work stoppage. Hell, I still have a new(old) hate of the Cubbies because of Madlock & their management's treatment of FA players of color.

I completely agree with you when it comes to being a player but as a fan why does the owner matter?

That's a tough way to follow pro sports. I can't imagine Reinsdorf cares more about the White Sox than I do. Or Paul Konerko either. And I don't expect them to. The Sox are my team. They're Frank Coztansa's team. The Cubs are IMU's team and RPB's team. These players and owners are just temporary. When it comes down to it, we root for laundry.

They had already sent Jenkins & Billy Williams packing and this was the last straw for my grandfather. He thought it was a shit organization destined to lose, so wtf.

As a 9-10 yr. old who revered his granddad, I agreed and hated the Cubbies for years thereafter.
