Quote: Tim Duncan has decided to continue his career for an 18th season with the San Antonio Spurs and has exercised his $10.3 million player option for next season, sources told ESPN.com.
After winning his fifth NBA title this month Duncan said he was undecided on his future. He had until Tuesday to pick up his option or opt to become a free agent on July 1. There was some discussion about working out a new contract for Duncan but he elected to stay in his deal. Duncan, 38, had a strong season, averaging 15.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in 74 regular season and then putting up 16.3 points and 9.2 rebounds over 23 playoff games. The Spurs are now assured to have their three-player core of Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker back for their title defense. All three are entering the final seasons of their contracts. |

There is no rebuild when you have the best PF of all-time on your team along with 2 all stars. |

Nas wrote: There is no rebuild when you have the best PF of all-time on your team along with 2 all stars. I think it's a rebuild because your statement hasn't been true for at least the past four years, imo. Without replacing Duncan and Ginobli as anchors on offense, the spurs fade into oblivion. |

It is pretty amazing how they fell right into Duncan as Robinson faded away. |

I realize that but he turned out to be perfect for them. That is not always the case with top picks. |

Quote: The Pistons have ended trade talks that would have sent Josh Smith to Sacramento, according to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com. A deal was reportedly discussed for a few days, but it's now "dead" after Detroit pulled the plug on Tuesday morning. The Kings may have been trying to acquire Smith with a package including Jason Thompson, Derrick Williams and an expiring contract, so it's not surprising that the Pistons didn't bite, but this doesn't mean that Smoove won't be shopped around for better Damn, Detroit trying to move J Smoove after 1 season? SVG ain't fucking around in motown. |

Yeah, I guess I'm not really too surprised. That was just an awful contract to begin with. It was like Detroit signed a max-guy just to say they did it. |

i think at this point he's a lost cause which is unfortunate, but appears to be the case i think the only thing that could save him at this point is someone like Pop or Phil but yeah the situation with Jennings and all that was probably one of the worst scenarios for him to be in...even Atlanta was better |

You think they could? I would think Sacramento would be one of the only teams even dumb enough to trade for him at all. That contract is a pretty big liability. I doubt theyll get anything of value for him. |

Knicks trade Chandler and Felton to Mavs for Calderon, Dalembert, Larkin, Ellington and future second-round draft pick. |

I think he'd be fine with it if Melo was younger or the team was better. I think he took the job knowing he would have to tear it down and build it back up. I don't think he will be successful but it's the only chance he has to be. |

How many years are left on that fucking thing? |
