This is what I've been saying. The NBA is a fricking joke that Lebron is allowed to get away with traveling all the time. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... er=ya5nbcs “I watch LeBron James, for example,” he said. “He might [travel] every other time he catches the basketball if he’s off the ball. He catches the ball, moves both his feet. You see it happen all the time. There’s no structure, there’s no discipline, there’s no ‘How do we play this game’ type of attitude. And it goes all the way through the game. To the point where now guys don’t screen—they push guys off with their hands.” He concluded: “It struck me: How can we get so far away from the real truth of what we’re trying to do? And if you give people structure, just like a jazz musician—he’s gotta learn melody, and he’s gotta learn the basic parts of music—and then he can learn how to improvise. And that’s basically what team play is all about.” |

In no other professional sport is there such a lack of enforcement of the rules of play. NBA basketball has zero integrity as far as officiating. The notion that the league is professional is an absolute farce. |

Balls/strikes in MLB is more farcical than grey-area travelling calls in the NBA. |

The thing that puzzles me about this is people that defend it saying people want to see the stars be stars or high scores. Not me. There might be some break in period if they announced strict referring for next year. But the great players will adjust within the proper rules. |

Worst call is against a guy defending the pick and roll. If a defender comes under the pick, beats the ball handler to the spot...so the Ball handler needs to retreat....90% of the time they carry the ball. It should be called everytime in that case, as it is a result of great defense. Iverson, the king of the carry!.....my guy Strickland, also a big carry guy. |

In Golf this would be like Jordan Spieth touching the ball with his club to improve his lie on every other swing. Ridiculous. |

In the NFL you could call holding on just about every play. On every jump ball there is some sort of pass interference also. In Baseball what about the stupid rules which apply to the double play. As long as the foot is near the bag they will call you out. Maybe replay has helped but I don't know. That was a long time "unwritten rule". |

He's really not. When he talks, he tries to sound smart but ends up sounding stupid. He has bad grammar and misuses words all the time. What does he care? He dumped his wife for the younger rich girl and is a multi millionaire. Knicks are paying him 10 million per year for the next 4 years. Guess what? At the end of it the Knicks won't win a god damn thing and probably be worse off than when he took over. |

That was a long time "unwritten rule". You couldn't be more incorrect with your NFL comparison. Not only is it a faulty on its face, when NFL lineman aren't holding or touching the ball on just about every possession like LeBron is, NFL referees are downgraded for no-calls when flags should have been thrown. In other words, there is accountability with NFL refereeing but no such accountability with NBA refs for no-calls on traveling. I gave you a good comparison with Spieth improving his lie every other shot in golf. Of course tournament officials wouldn't turn a blind eye to him doing that as NBA refs do to LeBron's constant traveling. All of those NBA games are really nothing more than Harlem Globetrotter games without the Globetrotters. |

My biggest issue with NBA basketball isn't traveling, it's stoppages of play. I'd much rather see refs be more lax across the board and allow guys to actually play defense than see them crack down on travelling. |

The NFL can evaluate their officials as much as they want but it still doesn't mean that holding doesn't occur on just about every single play. It's an accepted part of the game and if it is not blatant it won't be called. I watch a lot of NBA and I don't see a lot of traveling. Phil Jackson has anointed himself to be a caretaker of the game. He isn't. He has benefitted tremendously from coaching 3 guys that are arguably in the top ten players of all time. That's about it. |
