In this case, the cause would be Karl’s handling of the DeMarcus Cousins situation and the possibility that he misled the organization into believing he could work with the center during the interview process. Another thing to look at here is Karl’s reported attempt to enlist supporters from within the organization — players included — on the idea of trading Cousins.

The owner is a notorious pud. He ran a coach (Mike Malone) out of town last season that was having a good effect on Cousins and probably giving the team their most positive outlook in nearly a decade.

The owner was also giving Mike Malone tips on how they should be running their offensive and defensive schemes, and even suggested they go 4 on 5 on defense, because it worked in his son's Youth League.
