If this is true I would assume it's GarPax wanting him gone as much as anyone and I'd say the main reason would be more related to comments he's made to the media than basketball reasons. |

If this has legs the Bulls will have to seriously consider it. Orlando's first round pick would probably be a top 12 pick. Vukevic is top 5 or 6 center and Oladipo is the type of athlete that would be tailor made for Hoiberg's system. Very interesting that it is the Bulls and not Magic who appear to have proposed this trade. They obviously don't consider Butler to be a franchise player. There also must be questions as to his overall impact on the team too. |

"They" also thought Hoiberg would be a better coach than Thibs and thought McDermott was worth trading up for. Not sure I want "they" on my side in the Jimmy Butler debate. |

I just dont agree with willing to part with anyone right now.... I know this team isnt where they want to be...but tough shit. They have next year with everyone still on the books....then almost everyone minus Jimmy can be gone.... Next year, is the tradebonanza... This all goes back to the Bulls inability to read players personalities, then under that they "might" conflict with the goody two shoes crap they want to be known for... Dougie McBuckets is Garpax's Brian Anderson right now. He should be studying JJ reddick and KK tape and see what they do to survive....other than make shots... |

Everyone won't be back next season. Gasol and Noah will both definitely be gone. The roster in its current form is finished. The window is closed. It's time to blow it up. It should have been blown up after last season. |

I've read they are going to offer Gasol 20 mil per year. I highly doubt anyone other than the Bulls is dumb enough to do that. |

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=w ... qGa3WMXn6g It seems our main man Jimmy G. Buckets is now proposing trades also. Don't know how credible this source happens to be, but if true this is yet another pock mark on the house of Mr. Buckets. |

Jimmy Butler is really their only tradeable asset. His value is as high as its ever going to be. If you can obtain 3 potential starters you do it. Know other Bull has as much value. He is not a good fit for Hoiball, so Paxson would be an idiot not to at least think about it. The Bulls have to get younger and more talented. This is Taj. Gbison and Deng all over again. Better to get a rid of a guy too early as opposed to too late. |

If you are rebuilding then I agree with LTG. Even though you just gave him a huge contract it would be better to get younger talent. Reality is the Bulls will have enough cap flexibility in 2 years that it really doesn't make a lot of sense to start over. Butler will probably be really good for 4 or 5 more years and won't peak for a couple more years. |

I don't disagree with the rest of your post, however, it also has nothing to do with my post you quoted above it. |

FF I believe he is saying that the Bulls held onto those guys until they were in decline. Clearly that is the case with Taj but it was more debatable with Deng. |

Yeah, I don't think that is fair either. Butler just got good like two years ago and seems to still be improving. I'm pretty sure he's not on the decline right now. But my main point to him was that it's not an offer the Bulls can "consider". They reportedly offered it and it was rejected. They would most likely have to settle for less than that if they want to move Butler. |

The Bulls hung unto Deng too long. At the time he was traded, Gms around the league considered him done as a difference making kind of player. It was thought that he'd been run into the ground by Thibs due to the amount of minutes he'd played. That has been pretty much the case. He hasn't been nearly as effective as he was in Chicago. Same with Gibson. Gibson hasn't played the amount of minutes that Deng played but he hasn't been good for going on 2 yrs now. He had value 2 yrs ago but you can't get anything for him now. As far as your post goes Paxson is capable of assessing talent. If he proposed it and Orlando turned it down, then what does it suggest in terms of Butler's value around the league?. |

That's the problem though. You don't trade him once it becomes apparent that he is in decline. If you know GMs know also. You trade him before the decline starts so that you can maximize his value. You also trade him if you don't believe that he is a good fit for what you are trying to do. |

I would need either a top 3 draft pick or someone with potential to be a franchise player in return. |

So the front office is in favor of trading Butler supposedly because he's a bad fit for the offense, but they're going to make re-signing Gasol a top priority? |

Can the Bulls also get Scott Skiles out of a deal? As a selfish Bulls fan, I hope they keep Butler. But as a Butler fan, I know it is better for his success to play under a better coach in Skiles, and for a front office that better recognizes talent. I grew up a Magic fan. I could see myself switching back. League Pass would help me out. |

I find it ludicrous that they're going to consider trading their top player to provide more comfort to a coach who has no idea what he's doing. "Hoiball" my ass. There's no such thing. LTG can we please stop with the if then fallacies. According to your thinking if the Clippers turned down the Warriors' offer of Curry and Thompson for Paul, Jordan, Griffin, and two unprotected first rounders, you'd question whether or not Curry and Thompson had any value. |
