This reminds me of a guy I knew in the Army who got demoted a few different times. He never had any money and was always bumming cigarettes. One day he shows up with a new $40,000 truck and we all start laughing and ask how the hell he has money for it. He says it's no problem and he's got it and calls bullshit when we say he won't have that shit for a year. About 7-8 months later we hadn't seen his truck for awhile and started asking him and he kept insisting it was in the shop. After a couple months of this nonsense he finally admitted the payments were too high and the bank repo'd the truck.

This has all the makings of another country club of entitled veterans run by dusty. When you go and give everyone new huge contracts it makes the environment way too comfortable.

I think you have to look at the players involved. The big and medium contracts belong to:

Votto
Phillips
Bruce
Cueto
Chapman
Latos
Marshall

I don't see any of those taking the entitled veteran approach.

Hopefully not as I actually like most of them but you never know what the money will do to them.
