WAR favors Ventura

I never even said Aramis was better. I said it was close. It is.


I have a certain bias here on both as they were both favorites of mine

I never really liked either one.

I know a lot of Cub fans who hated Ramirez because they think he was a "dog". I think Brenly was partially to blame for that. I'll take Ramirez walking to first every time over Brenly. And there's the obvious ethnic/racial component. It seems much easier to call a black or Hispanic player a "dog". But you know how I feel about Ramirez. He isn't as good as he looks on paper.

As for Ventura- and I realize this is probably unfair- he disappointed me because I expected him to hit for a higher average than he did. That's definitely unfair. He had an excellent career.

I would suggest that Ventura was a baseball player. Ramirez was a hitter.
