Seems like they really paid a premium if that guy is that highly regarded. I doubt Gregg brings back much, frankly.

Anything is something considering he was a dumpster pickup but he has been effective and has the closer mentality. He could be a very key set-up man for a playoff team. The Cubs owe him hardly anything so they have no pressure to move him. Someone will have to overpay.

Wow. I can't believe the O's gave up Nicky Delmonico for Francisco Rodriguez. Delmonico was a 6th round pick in 2010 but was considered a much better talent and slid because of a strong commitment to Georgia. He was drafted as a catcher but was moved to third and even played a little second. He's a real good hitter with plus power potential. You're going to like this kid, Hawger.

Nicky is the son of former Tennessee Volunteers head coach Rod Delmonico.

Would you even consider that a little much?

The Pirates just lost girilli to a forearm injury.....which usually ends up being the UCL. They have a real good pen but a set up spot just opened up with their other guy moving into the closing role.

The Bucs need help: send them Gregg, Schierholtz, Ransom and Russell for some prime prospects!

They aren't going to open up 4 spots on the 25 man roster for that. I would give them Gregg and Ransom. Ransom can do everything they wanted Inge to do but couldn't. I would rather not face Nasty Nate and Russell in division. Russell can go to the Braves and Nasty Nate is actually probably better off just staying.
