Really. I'll take Ozzie Smith at SS and Joey Bats in LF all day long.

Absolutely. When peaking he was probably a top 5 guy in MLB

Those peaks dont always last long, sometimes not even a season. When people ask who the best I ever saw is, it's probably Bonds, Griffey or Trout but I also always think of Carlos Beltran on the Astros in 2004. For those 3 months he was insane.

Ozzie Smith is the worst guy on that list Frank. If you have him, your team sucks.

Speed and defense guy. Sacrifice a little defense at 3b and 2b for more offense and it balances out.

Pony up the $2 for Larkin and you get speed, defense, AND a guy who can hit.

Plus, anyone who plays for the Cardinals is a bad person.

LF Bonds - $5
CF Beltran - $3
RF Sheffield- $1
3B Boggs- $3
SS Ozzie Smith - $1
2B Kent - $1
1B Pujols - $5
DH Molitor - $2
C Rodriguez- $5
SP Pedro- $2
CP Rivera - $5

Fits in perfectly with my team. Bottom of the order guy.

Larkin and Cabrera are a better deal for that $6

Pujols might be the greatest rh hitter off all time and has two gold gloves. Cabrera is a great hitter but not a great defender. Needed Smith and Pujols to protect Kent at 2b.

Pujols is definitely not the best RH hitter of all time. In fact a strong case could be made that Miggy is better.

Pujols is a better defender but not enough to make up for Kent at 2b

Are these guys at their roided up peaks?

Because that makes a big difference for IROD, Bonds, ARod, and Frank Thomas

I assumed it was all of the guys at their peaks. I am taking Braves Maddux and Jones, not Padres Maddux and White Sox Jones.

Pedro at $2 was a steal, but he was not always healthy...and I don't care what the list looks like, I'm taking Randy Johnson even if it's $5.
Posada at $1 is a steal. Dude was really really good.

LF Ricky Henderson 4
CF Ken Griffey Jr 4
RF Vlad Guerero 4
3B Wade Boggs 3
SS Derek Jeter 3
2B Chase Utley 3
1B Jim Thome 2
C Jorge Posada 1
P Randy Johnson 4
DH Edgar Martinez 3
Closer Kenley Jansen 2
33

Pedro was as healthy as Johnson. In his prime from 95-2005 he made 29 starts in 10 of 11 years.

Pedro was the best pitcher of that era. I mean a case could be made for others, but he's my pick.

Rolen and Ozzie, definitely. I was a big Jeff Kent fan, but there's a drop off on defense.

He also hit .198 one year, and was a meh defender.

He hit above .270 in 8 seasons. Above .300 in 4.

Uh... no... he didn't. Again, he hit 70 home runs. He could have batted .150 and he would have been valuable.

The year he hit 70, he batted .299 with an OBP of .470 and an OPS over 1200. Yeah, total bum.
