It was a nice catch. It was a very nice catch. Now just leave it alone. Leave it at that. It's a nice catch.

Top 10 Greatest of All Time

Our grandchildren will see it alongside the Willie Mays and Sandy Alomar catches.

No way. Jay Buhner did it 15 years ago and its already forgotten.

Falling over a wall is not that impressive. It was a nice outstretched catch to rob a homerun. Probably not even the best of the season.

80% of the catches in this video are better....

Trying to take a black man out of the spotlight by highlighting white accomplishments. Very sad!

I saw the highlight of it last night. And I did not understand the big deal they were making about it. It is a very nice catch. But it is not even close to the level of Mays or Edmonds.

Jason Heyward has made a better catch this year than the Jackson catch

Jim Edmunds and Albert Almora do not consider it a great catch unless you unnecessarily dive for it.

Why isn't that Austin Jackson catch a home run? He left the field of play to make that catch. If that is ruled an out, what's stopping him from leaping over the wall into the bullpen and catching a towering flyball that normally would have been a home run?

It's like a ball going out of bounds in basketball play. Catch made in the air before he landed.

If you're comparing that to basketball, then he would need to deflect the ball back into the field of play and hope one of his teammates can grab it.

I might need to start a Dumb Baseball Rule thread as a companion to my Dumb Football Rule thread.

I get that. I still think though the rule should be changed such that you must land back in the field of play.

No, you know what I mean. It's where he took off from.

It's similar to the "in the air going out of bounds" NBA timeout call actually

What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for? He had 30 home runs, he's got a rocket for an arm, you don't know what the hell you're doin!

Hyped because it's Boston, and ESPN homebase is on the east coast. Same story as always.

Has the rule been changed at some point...I was thinking that at some point if you caught the ball and fell over the fence it was a homerun?

Good play. Real nice play.

Not sure its the best catch made by a Cleveland player this year.

I believe you meant Sandy Amoros.Ken Berry of was great going over the wall taking away homers. Douchebag Jeter,Uribe and Donaldsons catches are just foul balls

Been hearing about this all day.

Not as impressive as it was being made out to be.

At all.

I agree. It was a great catch. He robbed him of an HR. I think the fact that he fell over the fence has people over reacting to how great it was. Probably not top 50 all time.

The above couple of above gifs are 10x better then his.

The catch is overrated. He barely jumped and just fell over a short fence
