the jomboy breakdown shows he was arguing with one of the nationals coaches that was with girardi on the yankees coaching staff.

What a great game.

Nationals with a 5 run inning to wipe out a 5-0 deficit.

Then McCutchen as a pinch hitter just hit a GRAND SLAM.

9-5 Phillies.

Philly Nats games are always fun. Been to one myself once, actually.

Was funny to see the reliever laugh his ass off after he got the last out.

They stole one today.

What a game.

4 and a half hours.

Always been used to Petco Park half full and dead quiet.

Tune in now, on ESPN for the excitin' finish. SD going for the sweep.

Moreno is too involved and has made a lot of mistakes but letting the front office DFA Pujols took some guts...

Is it that ESPN has been obsessed with tennis, soccer and the Espy's over the last few weeks, or have people stopped bitching about the enforcement of the rule keeping pitchers loading up the balls?

Hader blew three games this week. Maybe the Reds can make a move for the Central.

I thought we did well taking Sam Bachman at #9. They say they want him to be a starter but he looks more like a closer to me so I guess we'll see. People are upset we didn't take Rocker but there were concerns with his velo drop and control issues and debate if his slider will be as effective in the majors as its a chase pitch so its not like he's a sure thing either. Plus he's a Boras guy. At least the Angels are drafting pitching...better late than never.

Nah, he's a stud while Rocker is a prototypical Vandy bust. Teams have learned you have to be careful about Pitcher U.

Rocker has bust written all over him. I would hope that I'm wrong, but the Mets drafted him so I wish him a large signing bonus, no injuries, and a totally mediocre career topping out with a 5 ERA in AAA.

I don't get this when there are no more rookie or short-season A ball leagues any more, and a 180 player organizational maximum excluding the majors and the Dominican complexes. Are they going to send all 10 of them to Low-A next spring?

White Sox just about did the same thing, they drafted 8 pitchers and 7 of them were college pitchers

Regarding the last two posts, here is what I read from people who care more about the MLB and its mechanics than I do: these teams went slot/overslot with the first couple of picks. Then they follow up the next few rounds with college senior pitchers who they are purposely overdrafting and can sign for cheap, as their only other option is to go play in a foreign or independent league. They will then take the multi round savings and draft a guy in these later rounds to throw more money at them than they would have been able to if they drafted the person in an earlier round.

It makes and has always made the MLB draft a bit of a farce
