He sure is. I hope he fired his agent.

Edit: 18.25 million. Not too bad.

The freaking QO was 17.9 mil....so a 325k raise makes him kind of look like a dumbass.

Next season he won’t have a draft pick attached to him.

The Nats signed 2B Brian Dozier to a 1yr/$9M contract

That's all he got? That sure isn't going to prevent them from bringing back Harper.

I think the situation is that bringing back Harper eliminates them retaining Rendon. Maybe they choose to get a player 90% as good as Harper for 50% the cost.

The Mets signed Jed Lowrie to a 2yr/$20M contract

Agents: Excel Sports Management (Casey Close) • Previously: CAA Sports (Brodie Van Wagenen) .

This fuckin guy is unbelievable.

DJ LaMahieu to Yanks for 2/$24M.

Thought he would get a lot more than that.

I can't believe DJ signed for that. Talk about an easy piece to trade for good value.

It's 2 million more than Lowrie and he'll be the 6th highest paid 2b in MLB. Seems about right.

Career .300 hitter with multiple gold gloves and only 29. Seems worth more than Jed Lowrie's old ass.

Lowrie has been great the last two years though. His WAR is in line with Machado

Im guessing the Yankees are going to make a trade now with all those infielders.

I did too, guess teams think he won't hit much outside Rado.

They're clearly telling Machado that they aren't interested or will only sign him on their terms.

They NEVER were interested at $20-25 mildough per. They may have hoped that prices would collapse and then swoop in, but when Manny got the offer from the Sox, that was it. They moved on.

They're going to be writing some big checks in the future. I can understand them not wanting to write one now.

The Yankees signed RHP Adam Ottavino to a 3yr/$27M contract

There's some risk here because Ottavino doesn't have a long track record and is already 33 yrs old but fuck me he was as nasty as any pitcher in baseball last year. If he's anywhere near that good the Yankees will have a disgusting bullpen.

The risk is because Ottavino would strike out Babe Ruth nine times out of ten.

Arenado is better, but I dont necessarily think they SHOULD, just that they WILL.

I think that's why they have the infield stocked.
