Both of these teams are being forced to overuse their bullpens. On top of that, Granderson and Rodriguez suck hairy testicles right now. Can't see Sabathia losing tomorrow. Can't feel confident either team can beat Detroit.

At this point, this all appears to be an exercise in futility anyhow. I have never seen such a pathetic playoff series performance by the middle of a lineup. Quite frankly, it is a miracle that the series is tied.

Pitiful.

There is nothing left to say about Rodriguez. It has actually become humorous. I was actually quite disappointed in the low volume of the booing.

He's bad but Granderson and Cano can't get a pass either, just fucking awful.

This.

Is the Baltimore staff that good or are the Yankees hitters just pressing too much? The indication last night from Smoltz was that its more the latter. There was one pitch Jeter hacked at that was fifty feet outside the strikezone. He's usually a much harder out then that.

Tigers didn't win the Central. The Sox lost it.

Tigers didnt win the playoff series. The As lost it.

Damn the Tigers are sure a lucky team.

They may lose their way to a world series.

Now you're agreeing with me about how dumb the concept of an MLB team "choking" is without actually saying so.

I still there are instances of choking by a team. The A's choked at times in that series, but the Tigers still had to win the games. Verlander and the Tigers won the series last night. Nothing was choked away.

Could you teach me how to identify when it's "choking" as opposed to just being beaten by the opponent?

 I love you man, you are my poster of the year again this year.

But you are making this way too hard. I get that choking is a subjective thing, and one person may see choking and another may not. But surely you understand there are instances of a team blowing it in critical situations.

So the Tigers win last night 6-0. They dominated the whole game. Nothing happened that was the A's choking, the Tigers just flat out won it totally.

Now lets say that the Tigers won that game 6-5 in the last inning as a result of 3 errors by the A's. Surely you can see that this is not the same as the first situation? The result is the same, but the circumstances of how you got there are entirely different. The result was more a result of the A's choking than the Tigers winning.

I do see the difference and I agree that one player could "choke" or give in to the pressure of the big situation. I don't think guys that do that stick around too long though. And guys that do stick around don't get that way. If a team makes three errors in an inning, I would suggest maybe they're just horsehit.

100% agree. I attended the 2007 game when Marquis got his WS ring. I showed up late and asked the woman next to me, jokingly, "Did they boo him?" Since I didn't like Marquis. In the smuggest of smug, she replied with "We do not boo here." Oh jesus, get over yourself. I'm a proud Cardinals fan, but you will never hear that "Best fans in baseball" BS from me.

I think that meme gets a big assist from the fact that so many high profile national announcers happen to be Cardinal fans.

I am going to make a very definitive statement. There should absolutely be no possible way that this Orioles team, this collection of no names and rag arms, should be competitive in this series. It is quite possible, however, that they may win this series.

If so, it will absolutely be a result of the piteous and inexplicable "performances" by Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, Alex Rodriguez, et al. I have watched Derek Sanderson Jeter play for many, many years. I have NEVER seen him swing at a pitch anything like the pitch Crystal Lake Hoffy referenced. Who was on the mound, Sandy Bleeping Koufax?

From Wallace Stevens:
Now, with one game in which to finally have that breakout, here are the numbers: Ichiro, .200 batting average, .200 on-base percentage; Robinson Cano, .111 BA, .158 OBP; Alex Rodriguez, .125 BA, .222 OBP; Nick Swisher, .133 BA, .222 OBP; Russell Martin, .214 BA, .353 OBP; and the worst offender of all, Curtis Granderson, .063 BA, .118 OBP and nine strikeouts in 16 at-bats.

I SAY THANK GOD THAT THE SERIES IS JUST TIED! IT SHOULD ACTUALLY BE OVER! YOU GOTTA BE BLEEPING ME!

I am not an economist, so I am unsure how it could be done, but I want Rodriguez GONE. Immediately. If this Yankees team loses this series, he can never live this down, particularly that at bat in the eighth. It is time to part ways.

That no good son of a bitch Alex Rodriguez has been BENCHED!

You might as well wear your street clothes you little whining son of a bitch!

I have a very good memory. Do you remember this from 2011 you son of a bitch?

Image

That is Alex Avila running to the mound in joy while you walk like a son of a bitch to the losing dugout.

You are a fraud. You absolutely are done. You will never be remembered as a Glorious Yankee, you no good choking son of a bitch.

Eric Chavez, who is 0-for-5 in this series, replaces Alex Rodriguez at 3B this afternoon for the 4:07P first pitch on TBS & ESPN Radio for Game 5 of the ALDS between the Orioles & Yankees. Chavez pinch hit for A-Rod late last night and went 0-for-1 in the 13 inning, 2-1 Game 4 loss to Baltimore.

Hawg Ass, I am going to give SHARK! a break here. Let us face it - he just got scooped by an amateur on a huge story. It has to sting a big shooter like SHARK!

Therefore, I understand his lashing out at me in rage.
