LOL I definitely have strong opinions and definitely overstate things sometimes, Ive admitted as much, but to say I have anger problems because I call someone a dumbass who makes a dumbass comment is overstating things yourself I think. Post-Season Update - Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 11:00 p.m., C.S.T.

We finally have our 4. On Tuesday, the glorious Yankees failed to hold a 5-0 lead against the dismal Devil Rays, and have apparently backed into the post-season, qualifying for same based solely upon the largesse of the Commissioner's Office in creating the Wild Card. Although this is certainly an embarrasment, the shame shall be erased.

Here are my up to the minute observations and predictions:

1. Boston has the second best record in the American League, tied with Cleveland at 94 wins, but with 64 losses to Cleveland's 63.

2. The Angels (at 92 and 67) trail both Boston (by 2.5) and Cleveland (by 3) for best A.L. record.

3. Unless I am mistaken, Cleveland would play the glorious Yankees if they have the A.L.'s best record or if Boston has the best record and Cleveland avoids a collapse vis-a-vis the Angels. I may, however, have this wrong, since I am used to the glorious Yankees winning the East.

4. The Angels have a ludicrous 54-27 record at home, and a 38-40 record away from Anaheim. Based upon home field, I give the edge to the finest baseball team in New England. Vlad Guerrero will dislocate his spine in Game 1 swinging at a pitch 10 feet over his head.

5. The glorious Yankees have owned the Indians since Bob Feller was teething. They will prevail.

6. In the "Patron Reposada-Blain's Farm & Fleet Bowl," the Yankees will have what it takes in a 7 Game classic. Chowderheads all across New England will fail to take solace in the fact that there is no shame in losing to the most legendary franchise in all of organized sports. The rats in Yawkey Pack will remain disinterested and unaffected.

Despite what NSJ might think, I know I dont know much about baseball, so I got some questions for ya.

Do you feel like ARod will be as great in the playoffs as he has in the regular season?

What is so good about Anaheim? I dont even know more than 4 players on the whole team? Why is everyone saying they are the best team in MLB?

Does Boston losing alot recently mean anything going into the playoffs?

Does Cleveland have a chance? if not, why not, they seem very impressive the few times I have watched them and I feel like they have the most consistent pitching in the AL.

Does the NL sacrificial lamb have a chance to win the WS, or was last year a fluke?

I would normally say that you are insane. However, I remember all too well your prediction from last October.

In answer to Favre Fan:

1. Arod - History is not in ARod's favor. This year, however, I have a different feeling. I believe that he will be the integral piece in winning me a very valuable Gift Certificate to Blain's Farm & Fleet.

2. Angels - I like the way the Angels play the game. However, I have no idea how they have amassed their current record. I have, however, excluded magic and mirrors as the cause. I also know that the glorious Yankees did not fare well against them his year.

3. Red Sox - I will let Mustang Rob answer this, but I think not.

4. Indians - Absolutely. They are a formidable foe. You are correct about their fine pitching. They play solid, fundamental baseball as well.

5. World Series - In all honesty, I do not see a single National League Club that would be favored over any of the four (4) American League Clubs. See, however, the above referenced prediction from last year.

The Red Sox slide coincides with ManRam being out of the line up, but I don't think it was the sole reason for it.
The heart of Sox bullpen went through a tired period period all at the same time. Timlin, Okajima & Papelbon all lost some velocity and control.
Gagne is washed up, and I'd be surprised to see him pitch in the playoffs with the game on the line.
They also got some shitty starts from Tavarez & Wakefield. Since neither guy will be in the post season rotation, you can ignore those stats. Both are better suited for the relief role anyway.

Boston - winning record against LA & Cleveland. 8-10 vs. the Yanks
Yankees - unbeaten against the Indians, 2-5 vs. the Angels
Cleveland - loosing record against the other 3 playoff teams
Angels - loosing record vs. Boston
