I thought it was an obvious shot at Dunn's pathetic season last year. Obviously it wasn't a perfect comparison but i think it showed the silliness of using the "rarity" angle when talking about how impressive something is. I don't really think its debatable that a perfect game is more impressive than 3 sac flys in a game.
I don't think the "rarity" angle is really all that silly.
Look man, the whole thing is wording. A pitcher that k's 20 could very well be more dominant than a pitcher that got that perfect game depending on how the games go down. Its like saying, what's more impressive, building a 600hp sports car or designing a new ultralight airplane. They're different things. A 20 K game and a perfect game really shouldn't be directly compared.
