Thoyer love their juicers.
Thoyer? You gotta stick with "Thed" and then you can add a Hoystein or Epster if you want, altho i do concede that "epster" sounds more like a nickname than anything else.
btw did anyone see that a-rod's final game had an (properly?) ominous aura about it?
also i think edwin encarnacion (~.265/33/95? nope it's .265/32/95) is in the midst of having one of the quietest best-masher-in-the-league seasons that i can remember. it's not like there's some kind of Mark Trumbo Deification Parade going on, but EE has led MLB in RBI for awhile now and last night he quietly went and tied trumbo for the MLB HR lead with 32. it's moderately !!! to me because his #s were in a slow but steady lil decline from his 2012 breakout season (.280/42/110 > .272/36/104 > .268/34/98) until appx mid-july of last year when he went absolutely HAM for a month (~12-15HR over a ~30 day span?) and managed to thwart that downward trend finishing with .277/39/111. this year his annual slow start wasn't as pronounced (even if his avg was like ~.240ish for a good chunk of the first half) and suffice to say you have to like his chances at both getting to 40HR and setting a career high in RBI this year... so would you be surprised to find out that this is his walk year?
he was born in january of 1983 so this is his age 33 season, which means that potential FA suitors would have to splash the cash for a guy who's going to start his new deal at age 34. he's some kind of relative-late-bloomer (ht hit 20HR a couple'a times b4 he was 28, with one of those seasons being .244/21/51 in 96 games) but you figure that a mashing 1B/DH might have a bit more longevity (a la david ortiz) than a middle infielder or an outfielder. do you think there's someone out there bold enough to offer him something around 5/125 to 5/150 riddled with opt-outs so he could peace out at any point and thus make him a de-facto luxury rent-a-player for a team with a mind to WIN RIGHT FUCKING NOW?!?!
hey you know the mets are historically known to give age ~32/+ players big $$$ 4/+ year deals (especially latinos when omar minaya was the mets' GM) so do you think they might try to suppress any and all jason bay memories and splash some cash to make EE their new mo vaughn? get that offense going as best you can (by hook or by crook) and then hope that your vaunted pitching rises up and has "the year" akin to the 2005 white sox? hmmmm....
