Yeah - I think he'll start over Votto in at least one of the games this weekend.

What exactly is the plan with him? He is supposed to be legit yet is really only suited for 1b right now. He is kinda large to be playing any kind of defense in the outfield. I would gladly take him on the north side. You can have anyone except Castro for him.

I thought you were screwing around. No he's not been called up. He has made the transition to the outfield and is playing well.

Before he moved to the outfield, the plan was to have him produce at AAA and trade him. If he continues to hit well (batting over .320 in AAA) and can play decent LF, I think the plan would be to have him replace Gomes, who drives in runs and has some power, but bats in the low 200's and can't field for crap.

Cubs make up a game in the standings tonight thanks to the Cubs pounding the Giant and the Reds walk-off.

Reds fans now treated to "Smoked Cardinal" at GABP. Seems like they are trying to establish their own rivalry with the Cards.

Talk all you want about Chicago, but until that city's National League franchise wins something important, Cardinal-Cubs series are not rivalries, they're excuses to party.

With the Reds, we're building a bona fide rivalry. . .

Watching the tribe/reds game today. Hernandez makes Koyie Hill look like a gold glove catcher with that 1st inning performance.

Can't argue wtih that. Absolutely correct.
It's like the Bear/Packer rivalry. It's really not been much of a rivalry over the last decade or so.
When you can't win 75 baseball games, you're not in a rivalry with anyone except yourself.

Sean Marshall coming in in the bottom of the 9th to save a 2-0 game in Milwaukee.

Chapman pitched the 8th with 2K's with pitches over 100 mph.

Should I feel confident?

With the Reds back in first place in the Central (and as much as I like Kofi Annan Kingston) it's a good time to go back to my old avatar. A four game sweep of the Braves was nice.

Then the AP and several major sports sections had it wrong that he was arrested for speeding and driving on a suspended license.

NJS, I work for Great American Insurance. We had an outing a few years back where we got to play baseball in Great American Ballpark. They had one of their bullpen coaches pitching to us. Best time I ever had.....

The stories are correct; your is not. He was arrested, but he is no longer "under arrest". . . unless of couse you can get a save and win while you are under arrest.

Could one of you crazy guys possibly change your avatar please? Maybe a different Reds player or something.

I would think you would want to change asap. Why would you want to be confused with NSJ?

Why don't you rock an old school red avatar like:

Whoever the lead off batter is for Cincy today, might want to come up in catcher's gear.

The organization should suspend him for a few games to quiet things down. He was slammed by his manager and teammates for doing it and that doesn't happen all that often in baseball. That wasn't the Reds team acting like an ass that was Chapman acting like a huge ass all on his own. Tony Plush will take care of things if the Reds don't police this on their own.

Yeah, but usually the actions of one cause harm to other guys on the team. That is why I am sure his manager is pissed. It's a shame he doesn't get to put a toothpick in his hands.
