Whose bright idea was to air this against SNF?

Manager inserts himself again. Sale scratched. Price in.

It was Sale's turn. Pitch him.

Sale used up all his energy yelling in the dugout last night.

Then they can't do anything with it.

I’ve never described a change up as a power pitch. Even if it has a ton of movement it’s still a feel pitch.

I think he's saying that it gets a lot of swinging strikes.

His use of the term still seems incorrect imo.

Yeah a good one should get a lot of swings and misses but that's more because of deception and movement. I can call a fastball, slider and curveball a power pitch but not a change. Can't do it

I have a handy dandy list of phrases to help describe pitches and power is not in there for a change.

legit weapon, nasty when down, late dive in zone, effective when down, occ late sink and fade, turns it over, fades, good sell, tough to pick up, occ deception, occ avg one, shows feel, out pitch, uses in any count, usable, good arm speed, maintains arm speed, keeps hitters off balance, needs to develop, work in process, uses sparingly, doesn't throw enough, showed in pen, guides, slows arm, tips pitch, lacks feel, lacks deception, inconsistent, drops arm slot, can't command, *slower version of fastball, BP fastball

* I use that one often

Pitcher or not, kinda amusing watching Machado throwing out someone who's not really trying to run. :)

I would agree that the change up is normally a finesse pitch and by the numbers it gets less swings and misses league wide compared to sliders and curves, but there are certain guys who throw it exceptionally hard and/or get splitter like movement on it. Felix Hernandez comes to mind. Johan Santana was another guy who struck out a lot of guys with change ups. I guess you could argue that those guys don't really throw change ups, but then it becomes an argument about semantics.

No, you're right--Santana definitely had a changeup 8)

They're really going to ride or die with Kershaw.

Price hitting here. Interesting. Can really drop the hammer with a hit here.

Hard to question Cora because he’s made a lot of good decisions this series but i’m not sure one more inning of Price is worth not trying for another run or two.

I wrote a reply three different times and changed my mind halfway through each time ... I can't decide.
