But he has to work on his defense. It can be done - look at his counterpart on the north side, who has upgraded his defense from craptastic to serviceable. Otherwise, he profiles as a DH/1B and will need to improve his hitting proportionately to be equally valuable.
Yep.
He just needs to reach NOT AWFUL status defensively and he'll be fine.
