You failed to mention the biggest problem with this team, starting pitching.

True dat. Is Gallardo even a number three or four on most teams, let alone an ace?

Not this year, in years past yes.

How are we the 3rd best team in baseball, despite a 9 game winning streak?

Will Mat Gamel tear his ACL for the third straight year next spring?

We have like 5 first basemen, and none of them are first basemen.

So many questions, so few answers.

Forced me to pull up the standings for the first time this year.

Factually speaking, they're the third worst team in baseball. Maybe KS was hanging upside down when he read the standings.

Trade him for prospects at the deadline and then try to win in 2015....

MILWAUKEE -- Second-year Brewers shortstop Jean Segura could not remember ever collecting six hits in a game. Not in his burgeoning Major League career, not in the Minors, not on the sandlots in the Dominican Republic.

"Never," Segura said. "Only Nintendo."

Never, until the Brewers' otherwise deflating 6-5 loss to the Twins in extra innings Tuesday. Segura went 5-for-5 in regulation, including a tying RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning, then tacked on another single with two outs in the 14th to tie a franchise record that had not been touched in 20 years. He finished 6-for-7 and leads the National League with a .365 batting average.

Only two other Brewers in the franchise's 45 seasons have had six hits in a game: Johnny Briggs on Aug. 4, 1973, at Cleveland and Kevin Reimer on Aug. 24, 1993, vs. Oakland.

Segura's was the first six-hit game in the Major Leagues in nearly four years, since Adrian Gonzalez went 6-for-6 for the Padres against the Brewers on Aug. 11, 2009, at Miller Park. Segura became only the 14th player in the past 10 Major League seasons, and the 26th player in the past 20 seasons, to log six hits in a game.

According to Baseball-Reference.com, Segura, at 23 years and 72 days old, was also the fifth-youngest player since 1916 to log six hits. The youngest was the Astros' Joe Morgan, who was just shy of his 22nd birthday when he went 6-for-6 against the Milwaukee Braves in 1965.

In all, 13 players, including Segura, have enjoyed a six-hit game before their 24th birthday, according to the Baseball-Reference list. Oddly, four of the last five such efforts have come from a player on the losing team.

"He continues to get on base," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "We had a couple opportunities there to win it. [Ryan Braun] smoked a ball there at the shortstop; you can say it was unlucky, but we were lucky he didn't turn two on it. We had a shot with Aramis [Ramirez] after that. There were some good things in the game today, just another tough loss."

Segura's .365 batting average is second in the Majors to the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera, who is hitting .373.

RIP Joe

Well, the one thing you have to understand is, that anytime you have 6 hits a game, its a good thing. 6 hits is greater than 5 hits, and its also greater than 4 hits. Ryan Sandberg only had 5 hits in a game, and only did that once. Back when I was with the Machine, it was very common for guys to have 6 hits in game because we were all great. Certainly greater than anybody who had 4 hits in a game.

Reminds me of my Troy Glaus story. My buddy's company gave him two tickets to Cards/Cubs about four years ago. I was fortunate enough to get the second ticket. The seats were front row, directly behind the Cards on-deck circle. We were discussing the proper way to say Glaus' name. He's in the on-deck circle, so I say "Hey Troy, is it Glous or Gloss?" He stops swinging, turns around and looks at us, shakes his head, then goes right back to swinging. Jerk.

Brewers should have started planning for the future by drafting a LF. Instead, they grab a P from... StL

Be very curious what they want to do with him, he started this year, but has been in the bullpen in the past. I am guessing they put in the pen.

I think they'll keep him a starter for as long as possible. They vcan always move him to the pen down the road. The Brewers did a good job of getting upside despite not having a 1st round pick, Hawger.

On behalf of Hawger, sjboyd, and newper, I'd like to extend an invitation for Terry's Peeps to take a prominent space on the Brewers Bandwagon™

There's no denying what you've done with the uprooting of Harry Teinowitz, positioning the stronger AM1000 show to the afternoon slot, allowing Jurko to move to middays where he wont be a must hire - thus allowing the re-union of Mac and Jurko, and now you've started to move the meters on the Silvaddle Uprising PPM's.

That's the kind of difference maker we want on our team.

As a Sox fan, it makes complete and perfect sense for you to also be allowed to like a National League team, which obviously should be the Brewers.

In fact, we would like to extend the offer to ALL SOX FANS. But Speeps is our #1 target.

This pact will of course allow you to root for your Sox when they meet in the World Series (Or Inter-League play), but will expect you to root for the Brewers in all other circumstances.

We look forward to you decision and thank you kindly for your time and consideration.

P.S. You are also a very charming, dedicated, driven, powerful, successful, and extremely good looking man.

P.S.S. #NoHomo

KS, I think you forgot that Mac is a Brewers fan also.
