Man, the audacity...

He should have just brought a container marked "NOT PINETAR" out to the mound with him

I think the whole thing is funny. I've seen guys out there with gloves that looked like they were doused with the stuff and nobody said shit.

Didn't Jon Lester have some crazy bright ass thing in his glove during the World Series?

Or when Kenny Rogers clearly has pine tar or something like it all over his hand/arm in the 2006 WS for the Tigers.

Believe that one was legitimately explained.

So you're saying he either gave up or burned out his bullpen so bad he couldn't finish a 9 inning game? Stop acting like sheep.

Yes Keyzer. Farrell gave up in the 9th inning of a 13-5 game instead of a tied game in the 14th like Ventura. Knew you could figure it out.

The game was over. They were chasing 8 runs in the ninth. Why burn a pitcher? If you don't see the difference between that and making a mockery of a winnable game by using a second baseman to pitch with the score tied, I really don't know what to tell you.

Andrew Cashner ended up playing LF last night. What's worse: using a position player to pitch in a 9 inning game or using a pitcher to play in the field of an extra innings game?

I dont know, but moving the pitcher to a position for one play and then back for the lefty righty matchup is a power move and we need to bring it back

Definitely concur with that. AND its much worse to use a position player to pitch in a tie ball game.

I didn't realize Keyser was such a polarizing figure... people seem to love him or hate him

He would be better than a lot of the Cubs' outfielders to start this season.

I love that he loves baseball.

I hate that he seems to have terrible opinions.

Puig gets a lot of criticism for showboating, but I have to give him credit on his attempt to catch Baker's game-winning hit yesterday. Great effort.

That was absolutely balls out and damn near a amazing catch.

Watching the Det/Clev game and the shift cost another team a double play. Harold Reynolds did a report on this the other day and it was unbelievable how many DP's were butchered because a 3B or SS was out of position trying to make the pivot at 2B and either dropped the ball or threw it away. This over shifting is getting out of control.

How is it that the Dodgers, with megabuck stars up and down their roster (and almost all in their primes), are 3rd in their division and have only a +3 run differential compared to the constipated Cubs? Talk about underperforming. Is Mattingly that bad?

Meanwhile, Ryan Braun is 4 for 5 through the 8th with two singles, a double and a triple. #PEDs :P

The Red Sox went through 4 managers/"acting" managers tonight.

The Rays/Red Sox continue to be the best rivalry in baseball.
