This has got to be one of the dumbest ideas ever.

I swear they did this shit when I coached softball. It was called an international tie breaker or something. It doesn't make the game any better or faster. It makes you small ball in a run and instead of playing multiple 0 run innings you play multiple 1 run innings.

All 12" softball leagues I play in have this rule. If it's tied again there's runners on 1st and 2nd and then in the 3rd extra inning they're loaded.

I think we did it in JV games only but I was like....the fuck....this is JV.....it doesn't matter if you win or lose...or tie...only that the game ends.

Okay, test it, realize it's plainly stupid, and stop doing it. The NHL tried having one centered faceoff circle per zone and they realized it was stupid.

That happens. Many fastpitch tournaments start extra innings with the last batter of the inning at 2nd base, with 1 out and a 2-1 count. Modified Int'l Tiebreaker.

It's an awful idea, I love baseball but if you want to make any changes start with..

1. Batter can't leave the box after every pitch to readjust his batting gloves.

2. Pitch clock

3. Automated strike zone

4. Every team either has a DH or none at all.

5. Only one mound visit per inning from catcher at most. ( including pitching coach)

I agree.

Pitcher's clock which would give the batter enough time to check a sign or adjust a glove, and limit catcher trips to the mound to one per inning per pitcher.

Who do you put on 2nd? The guy who made the last out in the 9th? A bench player? What if you're out of bench players? Do you have to burn a bullpen arm to put a runner on 2nd?
This is just dumb.
There's good ways to improve the game. This isn't one of them.
