Reports out this morning that they are going to be buyers at the deadline. Looking at Quintana or Gray. Didn't they learn their lesson when they sold the farm for CC? Someone retweeted a thing that compared them to the 2001 Cubs. The 2001 Cubs were up 4 games in the division on July 7th. They finished the year in 3rd place behind the Astros and Cards. Can definitely see that happening to the Brewers this year. |

I have a feeling we'll still be thinking this in September . |

I ain't saying I have any confidence in the Cubs right now. They very well may continue to flounder around .500. It maybe the Cards that get hot and overtake the Crew. I just do not see the Brewers being able to sustain this. They appear to be a team playing way over their head. THey will have a month where the bottom falls out. |

I'm thinking the Brewers could get this done without killing their farm. Quintana is cheap and under control longer than Sabathia was. The move makes a lot of sense for the Brewers. it would make more sense for the cubs, since their SP rotation looks to have aged really quickly. The Cubs bats will likely wake up, but that doesn't mean their pitching will get better...and it needs to. |

the bottom's not falling out on the Brewers yet... Pirates have given up. Just straight gave up. Cervelli's been hurt a ton, they're not who I thought they were. It's too bad...I find myself pulling for that team. |

GEORGE: You know Keith, what I've always wondered, with all these ball clubs flying around all season don't you think there would be a plane crash? ... KEITH: (to Jerry) Do you perform anywhere in new York right now? JERRY: I'm performing in this club on the east Side. You should come in. GEORGE: But if you think about it...26 teams, 162 games a season, you'd think eventually an entire team would get wiped out. |

The 3 game road series vs Miami has been moved to miller park. That is some bullshit right there. |

Well, a lot of South Florida is still without power, and it's not like you can move it to the Trop or San Juan. I don't like it either, but what would you have done? |

I'm always a fan of neutral site baseball. Well not really, just find the empty ballparks kind of absurdly entertaining. |

I suppose Loria of all people wasn't going to move the series to Olympic Stadium, after all. |

You can't take any chances with inclement weather at neutral sites. I don't know who's home and who's not those days, but I'm guessing there's some kind of paperwork involved with going to Toronto that's too much to deal with on short notice. Houston and St. Petersburg aren't options right now. For whatever it's worth, the Marlins once voluntarily scheduled a home series at Safeco Field because there was a concert in Miami. |
