Ohtani and Stanton are two very large talents movements to the league. The Yankees are poised to be a superteam for the next decade. The Astros look similar for the next 5. The Indians are a great team. Second tier teams like the Angels are now loaded with young talent.

2018 will end up being the furthest the two leagues have been apart in terms of talent parity in a very long time.

Otani? Cubs fans have never rated a prospect as highly as you're rating Ohtani. How many times have we done this song and dance in the last 15 years with highly sought Japanese pitchers? How many became stars? Hell, how many of them lasted more than 2-3 'good' years in MLB?

You don't remember the press and fans going haywire over the great Brooks Kieschnick. The ringleader left us with one of the greatest drops in Score history.

Yea I do not really count Otani either, but what dolphin is saying is still shaping up. Harper is still in play to go to the Yankees next offseason as well.

We will have to see what happens with this Machado situation though.

I'm not rating anyone. I've never seen a pitch or a swing of his, not even on youtube. The entire league lined up to acquire his services, other than the Orioles. That is something noteworthy.

Well this talent collection sure does suck for the White Sox.

Hes 23 and making chump change for a couple years, ofcourse the league lined up. I predict he can't hit much, not as good as Zambrano. I've heard several people say hes a #1 on 25 MLB teams day one.. Hard to believe, we'll see.

No doubt.

That Yankee Leviathan doesn't bode well for anyone in MLB.

They wouldn't have lined up the way they did for someone they perceived to be a lesser talent, no matter the price. You cite that you have heard several people say he is a top ten pitcher in the league today.

Frank is right. Billy Beane stated Theo was getting the next Larkin. MANY baseball analysts may have just been parroting Beane/Theo lines but they repeated MVP prediction MANY times.

Are there posts about the saviors who were Corey Patterson, Felix Pie, Hee Sop Choi, among MANY others? You are the one who said "never", which is laughably untrue. I just pointed out a recently example of the Cubs fans projecting their talent.

You forgot the White Sox have James Shields.
