They posted a job opening in the Astros front office. Is this new or have they always done this. Do they post FO positions for other teams or just that one?

I've seen them for a bunch of different orgs for FO or SABR type number crunchers.

Huh. At first I thought it was really weird but I guess a site like that is their target audience. Damn someone is going to have to sort thru A LOT of unqualified resumes.,

A great way to get tech people on a discount though. I applied for a tech job at Stats Inc once for Database work. They were offering 70% market rate as the job dealt in fantasy football.

I wouldn’t put it past those dickheads to try to get someone on the cheap but it reads like a fairly important position. You would think they are willing to pay market rate for the best candidate.

Yes, people work for baseball organizations. It's a thing.

They did a very interesting article on Paul DeJong, Nick Senzel and the future of the SS position. Rylan Bannon (Joliet Catholic) is mentioned as a player who could make the unlikely move to a more difficult position. DeJong has started a revolution.

The Cubs posted a position on Fangrsphs. Looks like a cool job if you’re into that sort of thing.

I'm assuming I make more money than a random front office statistics position. They know how to find me when a position worth my time opens up.

And of course Kenny Williams still flexing his muscle. Last line in preferred qualifications: baseball experiences.
