Pretty good apparently.

As a Sox fan I know the lightning in a bottle was worth it though.

Worth it. And he is good. Gotta wait until the league gets a book on him however to see if he can make the adjustments.

Not going to lie, it is hard seeing him rake with the Yankees. Makes it worse that Addison Russell sucks offensively.

Also amazes me that every draft pick from the rebuilding years Theo has picked has been a really good major league player.

Ironic that the best player on the White Sox is going to be a Theo draft pick.

They may never win a WS if they kept him . We know they won one without him. Hurts now but I’m cool wit it.

Yep. I would say it is a really good bet that the Cubs do not win it without Chapman.

I am happy for him and hope he has a great career. I saw him in South Bend a couple years ago and he was far and away the best player in the stadium that night. Everything looked smooth and effortless.

Let's hope Cubs score again this year now that they are out of their 2 year international penalty phase.

My thoughts about this trade are well known. I'm not sure that I still don't want to kill Chapman despite the Cubs overcoming him and Maddon to win the World Series.

He didn't have a position to play at the time. There were already two every day shortstops, both of which had better years in 2016 than their numbers indicated and included huge hits and defensive plays at key moments during their World Series run. The whole goal of stockpiling position players like Torres was to turn them around for proven pitching via trade. Yes, Quintana cost them a potential all-star, but that's the point. Eloy isn't proven yet at the big leagues, so he could also easily fail miserably. Its an unknown. All this said, its just going to be natural to complain about the ones that got away. I'd certainly rather have a World Series and complain about that over no World Series and lamenting the failures of Felix Pie, Corey Patterson, etc., to be able to play consistently at an all-star level or even at a major league level.

Having him at SS, Russell at 3B and Baez at 2B with Bryant in RF would look pretty good.

Good thing Cubs won that WS, because losing him would really hurt.

They did exactly what they wanted to do with him. The minor league system was still in the process of being rebuilt and they needed chips. They went and bought him and Eloy in the international pool specifically as trade pieces. They had no problem trading them away. I don't think they imagined they would both develop like they have....well one of them at least!!!
